the depth if any it was found at!

True, and interesting.  Not deep at all. Maybe 2cm.  And it was a loud and clear signal.  So why didn’t the SDC, 6000, 7000, Gold Monster or Equinox hear it?

I know that nobody gets it all but we are talking a flat bit of ground about the size of a double bed that has been detected so many times because I test any new detector or coil there.

I'd be amazed if a modded 5 and the MK2 weren’t a dynamite combo in New Zealand.  Especially if you had Mick’s level 4 mods as they are even hotter on small stuff apparently.  I’ve only got level 3.

If the mods on the 5000 are close to the mods on the 2200 I would be very happy still do not understand  how they do it but it is hard to beet the ismal modded 2200 on depth   still tO this day I found way more gold with my 5000 than any other that I had  May be experience and knowledge  but when I got my old 5000 back  from the one I sold it to  and changed the coil it was smoother  and you could hear the faint repeated  sound   well  I ain’t no expert Chevy ford maybe   but when the 5000 is so smooth with new coil I do not believe I missed much   That said I have a gold master that seems to hear the  dinks  but I hear them on 5000 just simpler to find   I found a small bit at depth in the Inyo’s  pops gulch I had witnesses and it was at 16 inches  sure May be up top and slid in but I was better than that a less than grammar was quite clear  so that if iam prospecting  keeps my mind at ease that I am not missing much  but then what do I know  just trying to learn

Well, it arrived yesterday, so I tested it this afternoon.  A little spot that has found lots of tiny pieces and where I have smashed a very small area with everything I’ve ever owned.

On the modded 5000 the front end gain can be wound about another 1/4 turn past where I can use it with the Evo’s.  Maybe it is the winding, maybe it is the size.  Either way, it found a tiny bit that just shouldn’t have been there.

And it was the first target so I’ve named the new coil Rambo due to ‘First Blood’.  😊

Not sure how often I’ll use this coil but good to have in the arsenal 👍

Hey Northeast. You inspired me to go out to an old flogged spot of mine that had regularly coughed up gold to me with each new detector release, Minelabs, & or coils over the years. But as they do they get to a stage where the gold seems to have dried up. I hadnt been to this spot for quite a while due to the fact it had stopped producing. I have had the 6000 with ML 11" coil here which did snag me a few rats & mice but then it stopped producing.

I hadn't had the 10x5 goldhawk coil here though so thought I would give it a shot. The area was the size of about two California King Double beds. Schist bedrock but had hidden cracks & crevices not visible due to dirt, moss & lichen covering them. Set in normal, manual 10 sensitivity & sweeping very slowly with volume about 3/4 with headphones. I am a dig it all person so I got a few pellets & a bit of metal crap. I got a very faint signal up against a slab of overhanging schist so I scraped out under the little overhang.

Ended up with 6 little fellers for not even 1/4 of a gram

The "secret" was to go really slowly, as gold had been found here before, coil on the ground, listen intently & dig everything.

 Thanks for motivating me.

If you are finding that I am pretty sure you are not missing anything at all wow good for you  it ain’t easy and always a lot of work  so  do not know depth but a gold bug or gold master may have worked  you did good anyways  and good for you
