What I would really jump at is a big coil that isn't epoxy filled. One designed for above the water line and not depth rated to 5 metres but could handle the odd dunking without problems. Light and buoyant for the mid and lower beach zones.

I dont own and dont plan on getting a Manticore, but i can see the need for the 10x5 coil as per the Equinox, but those massive big 18'' coils in my mind have never really sold well on the Nox as i always see alot for sale on Ebay at a massive knock down price from new and they are are hardly ever used.

The 15'' and 18'' coils in my mind dont go all that much deeper than the Minelab 15x12 and weight a ton, after folks have parted a fair amount of money, then the reality is they are stuck with something that they will hardly ever use.....of course this is just my personal opinion but i dont think i am wrong,a few folks will probably use one of these larger coils but not many.

You're probably right, even in my small market I've seen an 18" for sale, I was surprised someone else even bought one, I like big coils on VLF's for my coin hunting but I do agree there is a cut off point where they become pointless as a smaller size coil still achieves the same depth.  For the Nox it may well be the 12" width which is why Minelab stop at 15x12", the Manticore maybe the same but it might not be, it does have more depth than the Nox already.

The T2 really had no benefit at all with it's 15" concrete disc of a coil, no more depth over my 13x10" Mars Tiger.

The CTX benefits a lot from it's 17x13", an 18" on it might be a winner, but it's no longer the flavour of the month so they'd never make a new coil for it.

I want a light 16" round DD coil.......without all of the (unnecessary?) ribbing/bracing. Good to 1 metre depth so that it covers all above the water line beach hunting.

This 18" DD (epoxy filled) tips the scales at around 950 grams. A 16" DD (non epoxy) in the same design would probably take 300 grams off the weight.

Minelab did well keeping the M15 to 600 grams (no coil cover).

What we need is smaller coil..............................the depth getting with a Manti or D2 on the wet sand is pretty insane ,but it will be interesting to see 5 or 6 : or different elliptical but please light lets make detectors more agiles!

True, Minelab have an excellent range of their own OEM Coils for the Manticore, it is missing a nice small coil though, that's somewhat mitigated by the extra power the Manticore has over the Nox making the slightly larger coil perform near on as well if not better in many ways than the 6"  I'd still really like a 5" or 6" round for the Manticore though, I'd prefer a tiny elliptical like a 6.5x3.5" but I think that's just not something Minelab would do, they might save something like that for their GM 2000 although they seem to like round coils.

To complete my Manticore I'd like a tiny coil, and a larger coil than currently exist.

Each size coil has it's strengths and weaknesses. I like the BIG coils for the coverage. Added depth would just be a nice bonus.

With the M8 and M9, I'm pretty content right now.  All the bases covered for me.  In hot soil especially, no reason to put on anything other than the M9.  M11 is fine for deeper stuff in mild soil but frankly, I am content to trade off some weight for some depth.  M9 is the sweet spot for me.  Still interested in what Coiltek is going to come out with, though.

I am interested in seeing what they've got, if it's for Manticore.  But, having all the factory coils for the Manticore already, I'm really not sure what would tempt me.  The M15 is the least used for me, so bigger would not tempt me.  A tiny coil?  Maybe!  But, maybe not...
