Tony
Hey, some of us have big stretches of beautiful sandy white beaches to detect and those wimpy little coils aren't nearly manly enough when in view of dozens of scantily clad females.....just saying 😁 1 3 Link to comment https://www.detectorprospector.com/topic/26405-new-from-coiltek-next-week%F0%9F%98%8E/page/3/#findComment-279097 Share on other sites

Hydan
Then there are three options, and the closest one to the size in the image is 14 Link to comment https://www.detectorprospector.com/topic/26405-new-from-coiltek-next-week%F0%9F%98%8E/page/3/#findComment-279127 Share on other sites
phrunt
where are you getting there are 3 options from? You're not confused with the date they've written on the image as being 3 sizes are you? As one part of the date is 14. Could be a translation issue going on. That coil looks like an 18" to me. I think to play games they've put it on back the front. 1 Link to comment https://www.detectorprospector.com/topic/26405-new-from-coiltek-next-week%F0%9F%98%8E/page/3/#findComment-279142 Share on other sites
Hydan
Yes, because I just understood the history of the 18-inch coil size Link to comment https://www.detectorprospector.com/topic/26405-new-from-coiltek-next-week%F0%9F%98%8E/page/3/#findComment-279153 Share on other sites

If that's the case, I'm hoping for a 24" 😄 1 Link to comment https://www.detectorprospector.com/topic/26405-new-from-coiltek-next-week%F0%9F%98%8E/page/3/#findComment-279202 Share on other sites
phrunt
I was right, 18" for the Manticore. 18” MYTHTEK COIL - Coiltek The COILTEK 18-inch MYTHTEK coil is HERE! The largest coil addition to the Minelab Manticore Detector. Designed and manufactured in Australia, this coil is for the serious treasure hunter providing impressive depths while still offering exceptional sensitivity to smaller shallower targets. Best suited to open-ground exploration, this large, deep-seeking coil is ready to uncover amazing treasures on your metal-detecting adventures. Perfectly suited to ploughed fields, beaches and parks as well as many other locations and terrains, this fully submersible 18-inch coil has the ability to quickly cover the ground and search for those hidden treasures and hoards being a perfect tool for the right job. Gordon Heritage has been testing out the 18"MYTHTEK and here is what he has to say: “The MYTHTEK 18” coil is exactly what the extra power of Minelab’s Manticore has been waiting for. This coil not only provides impressive depth but also offers exceptional sensitivity to shallower small silver hammered coins. With Coiltek’s MYTHTEK coil, I’m confident that many previously missed hoards will be uncovered!” The finer details: Compatible with the Minelab Manticore detector Weight: 980gms Size: 18” – 450mm Configuration: Double-D (DD) Waterproof – fully submersible to 5m/16 feet 3 1 Link to comment https://www.detectorprospector.com/topic/26405-new-from-coiltek-next-week%F0%9F%98%8E/page/3/#findComment-279221 Share on other sites

I know it's 18" but it's still twice as heavy as the 500g 11" coil (which people are modifying to remove the coil supports to save an additional 50 to 75 grams) and it weighs about 180 grams more than the Manticore shaft system, armrest, and control head combined (which weigh about 800 grams). A counter weight might be advised. On the other hand you get 2.7x the footprint of the 11" coil and an additional 7" of swing coverage. Great option if your shoulder can handle the weight and the site demands that kind of depth and coverage. Wonder if Coiltek is going to come up with some smaller ellipticals? 1 Link to comment https://www.detectorprospector.com/topic/26405-new-from-coiltek-next-week%F0%9F%98%8E/page/3/#findComment-279228 Share on other sites
