Nice photo's Geof......from my limited bush-walking, I always discovered the hard way that every "nearby" ridge-line was never that. If something looks like it's a 2 hour hike then it usually means it will be a 4 hour slog.

The Stirling Ranges in southern Western Australia was a good example of that.

I liked that area, spent a week or so doing a few mountains and walks.

Beautiful country for sure and I hope to retire there soon.

Thanks for the photos and I wish I were there with a good detector  as you never know what you might find.
