Lucky man! I don't expect to see one of those here in England. I like the notch feature.

Hoping to pick up a Mojave next week. Only out of interest and some fun too.

Let us know what you have please.

Will do.

George,

Several of the used Golden uMax units I had bought in the past had the tone ranges mis-adjusted and I had to bring them back to spec.

If that is the case with yours, the key to a proper tone alignment is to make sure the Notch Width dial is at the 12:00 position before you start adjusting the Tone pot setting.  You want a clear tone difference between a zinc penny and a dime that also keeps a good solid tone on a nickle.   It takes a while to get it right as I would spend a good 30 to 40 minutes on one.   For whatever reason I never could micro adjust the pot, I would always have to smoothly adjust past the setting point then bring it back.

Happy you found one.

Mike

Wow, here we go again, that's page 2 out of a catalog I designed for Tesoro during the MicroMax push. With the exception of the gold nugget, I used my own finds to help embellish the internal pages. Boy how time flies!
