I was curious to see the quality of Minelab's adapter, so I had to pay it separately from the Manticore. 1 Link to comment https://www.detectorprospector.com/topic/26539-headphones-connector-build-maybe/page/2/#findComment-280301 Share on other sites
Yatahaze323
@GB_Amateur That exact adapter doesn't come with the manticore, the one that comes with the manticore is basically that adapter except it has a male connector instead of the female one and it has a little piece of plastic that locks it in place on the ml 105 headphones. There's a description of it in the instruction manual. https://www.minelab.com/__files/f/495018/ML 105 Instruction Manual EN ES.pdf I'm surprised that the cable that came with the ml 105's isn't available to purchase separately. 1 Link to comment https://www.detectorprospector.com/topic/26539-headphones-connector-build-maybe/page/2/#findComment-280320 Share on other sites

I use Deoxit 5% every so often on both male and female headphone connectors and coil connectors. Removes oxidation and leaves a protective lubricating film. Good stuff but $17 for a 5 ounce spray can. I was looking at all the different versions and saw they make a deoxit marine grease https://www.amazon.com/CAIG-DeoxIT-L27-ME-6-Lithium-Particles/dp/B08GSSMGP7 Have you used this version before? TampaBayBrad
19 hours ago, Yatahaze323 said: Have you used this version before? No, just the spray. It gets into the tiny holes of the coil connector due to the pressure of the spray. The pressure is adjustable on the nozzle, use the lowest setting. Spray a little in there, let it sit a couple minutes then spray some more to clear any cleaned debris out. It dries quickly, but I still attempt to dump out the second spraying while still wet. You'll notice the connector screws on really smoothly after cleaning due to the left over lubricant film which also protects against oxidation. Do both male and female ends. 1 Link to comment https://www.detectorprospector.com/topic/26539-headphones-connector-build-maybe/page/2/#findComment-280411 Share on other sites
