Popular Post TTT2866
I can’t bloody believe it!! It took 7 years but I finally found one. Been doing this spot for 5 years and must’ve walked over it dozens of times. Just enough sand washed out to finally uncover it. I’m so blown away. It’s not even that it’s worth much, it’s just super cool to have found one. In Australia too. My mate found a full sov not too far away a couple years ago, I wonder if it was the same person that lost it? other less significant finds include 3 x 18ct gold rings, a 18ct charm, a 5.5 gram 9ct earring, a cool watch im currently restoring, and a handful of other gold rings and a gold chain I haven’t had time to look through yet 🙂 more on that later 30

stupot
I can see from your finds that youre searching a near bottom layer as you've hit some heavy stuff and blackened silver. Have you had much other metal there, or just holidaymakers losses? Is the sov from your own countries mint? Work that place to death as hard as you can. Finding two sovs in the same area tells you something. Good digging !
ECris
Amazing find and congrats TTT. Your spot is special with more goodies I bet.

Thank you everyone 🙂 I can't stop looking at it. Stu, yes that's right. We've been targeting areas lately where a lot of sand was washed out by the rain and high winds. An old fence has washed out where people have been sitting for years and it's also acted like a large sluice, catching hundreds and hundreds of coins and small bits of jewellery. We've been using the pinpointers and pulling multiple coins from the same hole. Have also ran the pinpointer along the large blobs of rust which have formed at the bottom along the fence and smashed open signals with the picks to find more coins and light pieces of gold. If you look closely at the small gold pendant you can see the rust blob has the shape of a coin around it - that's because it was sitting directly behind 2 other coins inside a big ball of rust formed on a nail. The sovereign spot isn't far away, where a lot of tourists gather, and have gathered since the late 1800's. Though I have seen it more washed out before, it's also copped a large hit from the winds and it's removed a large section of the beach just leaving rocks and clay. It's only about 50 meters away from where I found over 50+ rings in 4 days last year. 😄 I've got the bug now.. bad. Forever going to dig every pulltab at any old site. I can't imagine how many I've missed over the years when just targeting old coins haha. oops.
