Popular Post schoolofhardNox
Well, finally the fall beach season has begun. I’m not sure if I can do it every week but I’ll see how it goes. I had to start on my favorite beach for my first hunt. I could see a lot of bulldozing was done during the season and areas were exposed that were previously deep with sand. I used the Manticore at high tide and found a decent amount of clad and 2 junk rings. Later switching to the GPX I could tell all the good silver was scooped up as the average depth to the clay layer was around 6”. Most modern machines will hit coins in that range, even with the black sand and interference from the clay bottom. I did find another section that had about 14” of sand to clay and was able to hit the (almost) silver spoon and the only silver coin – a Mercury Dime. There are still a lot of junk clad coins left as well as lots of trash. I spent about 7 ½ hours detecting. It felt good to get out on the beach again. Come on silver and gold 😅 22
F350Platinum
Nice going! Glad to see you back! 🥳 Honestly I'm getting tired of holding down the fort man 😏 I can just imagine what you'd get where I go. 🤔 Looking forward to fall and your posts. 🙂 4

I would probably get all those pull tabs that are just a bit out of range at your place 😅 I often wonder how some of us would do out of our element, like the desert west, CA shoreline, England hunts 🤔...... Better not to try 😉 44 minutes ago, Joe Beechnut OBN said: Wow, you sure cleaned that spot up. They should be paying you for that service.. I know..... 😅 I kept screaming for them to pay me but not even one penny thrown at me. Maybe I should stop scaring their kids 😆 2
Valens Legacy
Great hunt and that was a lot of work to get what you got. Good luck on your next outing. 2
CalReg
Man, you sure did the beach a favor by cleaning out all that trash! Unfortunately, it's a fact of life when hunting the beach. At least you didn't leave empty handed...nice hunt!
GB_Amateur
I know your problem: it's not 20F with 30 mph winds! BTW, does anyone drink anything besides Corona on the beach anymore? Their advertising sure is working. They ought to pay you to clean up *their* trash. 3
glacialgold
Nice work! You definitely beat my results. I hit a small local beach (freshwater) last Tuesday and only picked up 76 cents and a necklace that was a prize from Dave and Buster's.😄
rvpopeye
So , back to the dig a chain gang ! Looks like you didn't forget how either. Good you knew your beach well enough to recognize the sand levels.👍 (my back hurts every time I'm looking at one of your finds pics)😏 1
