Morehead City, North Carolina Advice

I’m planning a trip down to **Morehead City** soon and am eager to explore the possibilities of metal detecting in the area. Specifically, I’m hoping to spend some time combing the local beaches and would love any tips or information you can provide. Whether it's advice on the best spots, local regulations, or any must-know guidelines for detecting on the coast, I’d greatly appreciate any help! Hey d1v1n,

Atlantic Beach is probably your best bet. You'll probably have to pay for parking tho. I hunted some Emerald Isle beaches a few weeks ago, and someone told me that the hotel area is a good place. Sadly I didn't get up there. Emerald Isle is mostly rentals, and all the public beaches are pay-to-play. The entire strip is public, and legal to detect.

Thanks for the heads up! Atlantic Beach sounds like a solid option, even with the paid parking. I’ve heard good things about the Emerald Isle hotel area too—shame you didn’t get the chance to check it out! It seems like a lot of those beaches are pay-to-play, especially with all the rentals around. I'll keep that in mind when planning my trip!
