So, do you keep all the gold you find or sell it? I don't have a large amount, but for now I'm keeping all the gold I've detected. It's kind of hard for me to sell when I assume that the price of gold will almost always rise, and it's not a huge amount of money that I can get if I sell all the gold I find.

  • The title was changed to Do You Keep All The Gold You Find Or Sell It?

Personally, I tend to sell off gold after collecting it for a decent time, with a couple of exceptions. Any rings etc that my lady wants, she gets. Occasionally, I'll keep jewellery for myself if it's old and decent.

However, I would never sell any of the gold coins I've found, thats completely different they're just too valued!

Are there any better ways to sell gold besides selling it as scrap? I was thinking of placing ads on the most popular websites in my country, asking for a higher price than scrap gold, but still offering a lower price than jewelry stores. This way, it would be more appealing for buyers. What do you think of this idea? Has anyone tried this before?

Do you get a better price if you sell more grams?

The difference between the price of gold jewelry sold in a store and the price you get when selling it as scrap is significant, and I feel like it's pointless for me to sell it at that price. I also think gold could be a form of savings for me.

Unless you need the money keep it. Most anything of gold value I find is usually claimed by my wife and daughter and my son likes silver rings. Allowing my wife first dibs of any nice rings keeps her happy and allows me to purchase any detecting equipment I "deem" necessary.

Sold all my gold in 2012 when the price hit 1700.00 I regret it today but it was a good price for back than. Now I save all .

Gold is no good just sitting around in a box somewhere......cash it in and party....I say.
