Popular Post Gold Catcher
Went back there today to get more. Almost every other signal was gold. Amazing to find these rather untouched patches and makes me think that this is how the old-timers must have experienced it. The area is remote, with a long dirt road drive followed by an additional 2-mile hike. But it does support the notion that you need to go to really remote sites in a gold bearing area to have a chance to get lucky. I kept my bear spray in my hand though.... but the two I saw did not care, thank God. GC 14
GotAU?
Further away from towns is where those bears still respect people! Nice hunting!

mn90403
I've never been on a patch like that. Something close with smaller gold that had been picked over but certainly not virgin metal detector ground like you are on. It would be hard to sleep knowing a patch like that is there with that much potential. I'd be depleting it too fast and not have anything to do next year! haha Those are nice chunks.

Popular Post Gold Catcher
I more and more come to appreciate how deep the 6000 can potentially punch, even with a smaller coil. I went back to my place yesterday and got a very faint signal (manual 10/normal), barely audible and very different from the rather defined signals that the 6000 is usually giving for more shallow targets. I started digging, and digging, and digging....and finally recovered a nice 8 grammer, buried quite deep. I picked up a bunch of other smaller and shallower targets during the course of the day, but that faint warble of the bigger one was a great example and reminder of how much power and versatility the 6000 is actually having. You just have to listen to the threshold variations really carefully (headset!), and not always expect the regular sounds that the 6000 is making, and that we all are so accustomed to. Love that machine! GC 13
