thanks bigtim1973, my shop as you say is my shed in the back yard of my house here, it suits me but it's getting smaller, that is  the more gear you get the less room there is  😁

Yes I have made other style knives when I first started trying to make knives and got a bit better at it I made a Bowie which turned out ok as well, and I made a few tomahawks (small axes) from railroad spikes

I would like to think at some time there will be some to sell for sure

a few photos of the other things

the Bowie

So the Chefs Knife I've been working on for the last few days is out of the Coffee Etch this morning after 14 hours.

It just darkens the mild steel cladding above the copper line and maybe makes the black high carbon 1095 look a bit blacker as well, I like it a lot 👌😁

Hey Dave that knife looks great and that tomahawk looks good too!

So how big of a knife can you legally carry in your province in Australia?

We can carry a sword here legally if we want to in Tennessee believe it or not......no blade size limit at all.

yes, your kinda lucky over there with knives on size restrictions.

here they don't even like you to have a pocket knife on you, and I think the blade length is 6" but you can have Kitchen knives/Chefs knives in your house, I don't think there is a blade length restriction on them, well not yet anyway, the last one I have made has a blade length of 240mm (9 and 3/4 inches)

the Bowie knife in the picture that I made has a blade length of just a fraction over 7"

Over the last few days I've been working on the Chefs Knife.

It's finished, Cu Mai Gyuto Chefs Knife just finished, I like it,

It takes quite a few days of working on these from start to finish but they are fun projects, and I'm keen to start on the gold project knife which will replace the copper in the knife with 24karat gold sheet

thanks bigtim, and yes that is my hand holding that nugget all 7.5ozs of it, found in Western Australia by my missus Veronica a few years ago now with the GPX4500 and the 17x11 advantage mono coil

the small picture in the circle is the one I'm talking about, the one in the big picture is an 80oz nugget that I'm holding as well it's not mine but it is a beauty as well

  • Oh my! 2

I could only dream of finding something like that!!!

Well at least you are in an area where that is possible.

I have always wanted to go to Australia but I do not think I will ever get to.
