There may be a market for wood working knives, hatchets and axes. As a results of the droughts the trees have become more susceptible to disease, requiring their removal and disposal. Not wanting to waste all this wood, the trees are Alaskan milled to lumber. Now a need to build something with all this milled lumber What to do with all this split & stacked firewood The truth is rather be wandering around the high country, searching for a golden trout or glacier gold. 12 1 1 Link to comment https://www.detectorprospector.com/topic/26764-what-do-you-guys-do-when-not-detecting/page/5/#findComment-289447 Share on other sites
Popular Post Chris Coffee
When not detecting, I have a few different other hobbies that I indulge in. One is doing large jigsaw puzzles. Another is designing, building, and flying High Power Model Rockets. Here is a puzzle that I finished recently that was 3000 pcs. My next 3 puzzles are 9000pcs each. Also, two of my favorite rocket builds. The orange and blue one is a dual-deployment rocket that flies on 54mm motors with varying thrust levels. I have flown it to heights of over 40,000ft. The purple one is a single deployment rocket flying on 38mm motors. It's been up to about 6,000ft. 11 1 Link to comment https://www.detectorprospector.com/topic/26764-what-do-you-guys-do-when-not-detecting/page/5/#findComment-292071 Share on other sites

Craig Peer
I like to ride bicycles to try and keep in shape, and right now during winter, XC skate ski. Target shooting, and cooking / throwing wine pairing dinners for my wife and friends also occupies some time. And I'm a home theater enthusiast ( that was my retirement job for 11 + years - just re-retired from that ). And when it's hot outside, I find it relaxing sitting in a cool river or stream running gravel through a sluicebox - something I hadn't done in 25 years until last year. But this year I'm dedicated to devoting 10X more time metal detecting for gold. 3 Link to comment https://www.detectorprospector.com/topic/26764-what-do-you-guys-do-when-not-detecting/page/5/#findComment-292616 Share on other sites

I might not have the energy I had 30 years ago, but I'm totally fired up to go detecting and prospecting for gold this year like I haven't since the 1990's. And I'm trying to keep the fitness levels up with other sports so I'm ready to rock and roll when the weather warms up the snow and rain stop! 3 Link to comment https://www.detectorprospector.com/topic/26764-what-do-you-guys-do-when-not-detecting/page/5/#findComment-292623 Share on other sites
