Popular Post Fedrik
A few months ago I´ve found this other cool thing. What appears to be a French infantry ammo pouch badge. The funny thing is there´s no correlation between a French infantry object and Costa Rica. My thought is that the closest a French infantry was to here was during their presence in Haiti and the last time that happened was in the early 1800s. Probably, a tired soldier decided to sail to here instead of going back to France and retire. That object could´ve been part of his belongings and was handed over to next generations until the last owner lost it and I found it. Per the conditions that was found, I would say it was buried at last 80 to 100 years.
Bob S.
If you found this near the "trigger" in your other post, you may have your answer. Research the French cartridge box that this belongs to and you may find your musket model that the trigger belongs to. BUT... Your latest post on the "trigger" in the other thread, I'm still inclined to think your "trigger" find is more likely Spanish in origin. It looks too old and corroded to be later French.
Fedrik
This badge was found in a totally different place. More than 100 kms away from each other.
Bob S.
Confirms my thoughts that the "trigger" is likely not French.
