I never installed the v1.16 beta, but I am going to try out this newest update this evening.

Don't know if Nokta Engineers did this on purpose with 1.17 or if it's a happy accident, but I can now hunt in 20 kHz with my Legend and I don't get interference on my Accupoint!

Used to have to set my coil as far away as possible (for some reason setting it at a right angle to me helped too), or I'd get a pulsating signal on my Accupoint coming from the Legend when in 20 kHz.

Today for the first time in a long time I used 20 kHz at a park and forgot about setting the coil away from me when I dig. Didn't realize until the 3rd target that I was setting my coil down right in front of me but I wasn't getting ANY interference from the Legend.

I just downloaded it to my machine. I need to look through all my settings and make sure they make sense for beach hunting, because of these two items:.

2. Beach mode has been improved.

In beaches with high mineral density, some deeper non-ferrous metals which were detected as "ferrous" by the device can now be detected as "non-ferrous".

3. Iron Filter 0 (zero) level has been updated.

The 0 level of the iron filter has been updated to better distinguish between ferrous and non-ferrous. In very trashy sites, small gold that which were detected as "ferrous" by the device can now be detected as "non-ferrous".

I can't wait to get back out and give it a try.

I just updated both of my Legends to V1.17, reset the User Profiles and adjusted all of my custom settings for each mode that I had written down.  It didn't take too long to rebuild my custom settings since I have had lots of practice.

The download and update process was super easy to do with no problems encountered.

Thanks Nokta for caring so much about the Legend, your vision for it and for your customer's input and involvement in field testing potential new features and for offering beta testing for anyone that wanted to participate.

Hopefully the Legend has had its last software update and I won't have to do any of that again.

I just now updated one of my Legends to V1.17.  I will leave the other on V1.15 for a little while for some comparison testing.

If V1.17 is the final version for the Legend, I will not be concerned.  The Legend has evolved into a phenomenally capable machine. It can hold it's own against any other, both as a general purpose unit & in most specialty situations.  Some grumble that it has become too complicated. That is for each user to decide based on their skills & needs.  Are you an out of the box, factory preset hunter or tweaker?  Do you have nice clean low mineral sites or ground that is a junk yard that the devil pissed on?  The Legend can do it all if you can.

Some have said the added features from the numerous updates has over taxed the design's capacity/processor.  I'm not seeing that, but I concentrate on a slow steady swing speed & don't mind digging iffy signals on a good site.

Could the Legend be further improved?  Probably, but I am happy to wait on a new platform that takes the current level of practical performance to a new level/dimension.  I look forward to Nokta's Relic PI in the meantime. I think it will amaze in practical fashion just as the Legend has done.

Now if I can just find the time to get on that virgin 1850's townsite...

I did spend about 20 minutes at lunch in my milder test bed with the V1.17 update.  The new 0 IF is most certainly without any noticeable bias. Long time undisturbed buried nails false up past Nickels.  I'm not sure where I would ever be able to use it but still glad to have the flexibility.   0 did not improve mineral punch on the red dirt test bed.   I think I will keep my standard setting at 1IF 3ST with first tone break at 7 and dt at 4. BC&GS=0. It works well for my iron trash sites.  Not sure what changed on Pin point since I rarely use it except to size odd ball targets.  It works well on V1.17.

I took a break from archery hunting today and did a couple hours detecting with the updated Legend. The only negative thing I saw was that Park M2 (DT 2)was extremely noisy and chatty. Park M3 was fine and so was Field M1,M2, M3, ..BE was quiet also. Kinda has me puzzled

That's a good hunt Jeff.  Is there any older iron trash to deal with where you hunted?  The new IF =0 seems too unbiased on my testing so far, even with ST =5.  IF =1 is as low as practical so far. Just curious. That is some weird dirt you have & GB 7.  How many bars on the Legends mineral scale?
