No U.S. dealers yet. Probably next year at this point as I see nothing on the FCC website yet. If they delay much longer they may lose the window of opportunity they have by getting to market well before Nokta. I expect they will release their new PI in 2025 also.

From your past experience how long does it take from a test model to a production model to reach the open market.

Curious as Nokta is still working on getting out testing models according to the Oct 1 Nokta livestream.

I'd say for a genuinely brand new model, like GPZ for instance, new housing etc about 5 years but large variance obviously. I mean from start of project conception and go ahead. Now if you are talking how long once it gets to outside field testers (people like me that don't actually work for the companies) say maybe a year? The physical housing of a new design is one of the largest costs in both time and money. Making changes/updates to existing physical designs is much shorter. There is nothing slow about Algoforce as they are selling very well in Oz and coming here is a low priority until they make sure they are really ready to pull that trigger. Nokta on the other hand has been abysmally slow with PI given how incredibly fast they have been bringing new VLF to market.

So yeah Nokta sending engineers to the field is a good sign. But PI being a brand new thing for them, could be ready in 6 months, or by end of 2025. Worst case who knows? I am just the opposite of most people on the forum - I expect things to take far longer than most would. Padding estimates almost never hurts. So as long as Nokta shipped before end of next year that would fit my general expectations. If they do it faster, well great. But waiting around for detectors under development is a long slog. If a person actually needs a detector they are better served looking at what is on the market for sale, not waiting around for stuff yet to appear.

Even I get burned at times. I sold my Fisher AQ Ltd because I was told the improved version was due in months. That was years ago and the improved version may never even happen now at all. If I'd have known that I'd have kept the AQ but as it is I'm so irritated by it all I also refuse to buy another one. Sure as heck if I did, the new version would appear within months. Screw it, I'll wait for Nokta. The E1500 is a great little detector but I need (want) something fully submersible that works both for gold prospecting and while using mask and snorkel at the beach. I can attest to the E1500 being a great wading and dry beach PI however for those that don't need fully submersible.

I really am hoping the Algo gets here soon also and agree they are probably trying to keep up with the demand in OZ especially now that the MK-2 semi-flat wound coil is now available for it although only limited quantities also as of now.

Does the FCC website only show when it is approved or does it also show when the application has been submitted? Hopefully it’s in the FCC approval process and everything is going smoothly.

I asked Alex this very question at the end of Sept.   Here was his answer.

At this time, we do not have an estimated time of arrival for when the product will be available to USA customers. We understand how important this information is, and we are working diligently to provide updates as soon as possible.

With no built-in wireless is there much they would even need to do? When I read FCC reports on detectors its always all about the wireless audio transmitter.
