  • The title was changed to Memories From The Rope Swing

Welcome back, Dogo!  You've always had a knack for finding silver.  That apparently hasn't changed.

Brilliant to hit the water then, if your other permissions are "dried up" in one form or another. 👍 I'm sure you will find much more there, difficult as it may be. 🍀

Difficult barely describes it. I have to modify a scoop or something to combat the fist size rocks. There were a few good signals I abandoned because of the rock. Might just bring a spade shovel and my floating sieve.

Sweet prize ! Old rope swings rule ! 👍

My old swimming hole is now a senior housing community. It was an old feldspar quarry . The hole is still there ......300+ feet deep, I can't even detect the shore now , and fahgeddaboutit on the bottom !

Any treasarrr down there ? Probably . Most times all anybody was wearin' was their jewelry 😏.   I remember the town hauled a couple dozen old cars out of it in the mid 70s with a crane..talk about hooking a big one !  Not sure how much $ they got for them at the scrapyard.

Welcome back dogo ! I know how you feel the recent construction boom has left many of my close by spots covered with asphalt and buildings as well. As far as the spot goes you can always pull an Aquachigger….”hold your breath” 😄

Thanks for the input Strick!!!  I was wondering if you were still doing well, Hopefully so !!! As for holding my breath there is no need, this once mighty creek has fallen to urban development. It's only 18'' deep at best. Down stream about an 1/8th of a mile is a 1701 Inn which still remains. My old man told me stories of an old ferry that ran next to and under the bridge that they would bring horse and buggy's across. The old bridge had a toll, but the poor people found a way around it. Access to it now is very difficult due to the development of the area. All my years of detecting it never even crossed my mind to hunt these waters. Thank GOD for felt soled waders or I would have busted my Ass!!!! Thanks and Hope your doing well!!!!
