phrunt
Good little video, the Algoforce certainly beats the legacy GPX on smaller and difficult to detect gold, the 5000 beats the Algo on bigger deeper gold. The Algoforce is amazing for the price for those chasing the little bits and difficult bits the 5000 misses so for those with only an earlier GPX it's a good option, if all I had was a 5000, I'd be investing in an AlgoForce for sure, the two complement each other very well, where one might be weak the other is strong and they share coils. Combine the two and you have the ultimate GPX 7000. The 6000 has extra depth across the board and a little bit more sensitivity, but the Algo has more features that make it beneficial for more than just gold prospecting, and handles ground with a mono coil and hot rocks the 6000 doesn't do well in. The big benefit I see to the Algoforce over all other PI's is the EMI immunity, if my lounge room had nuggets, I'd find them with the Algoforce 🙂 While the 6000 is better than the 5000 with EMI, the Algo kicks their butts. The 6000 with the DD coil isn't as good as the Algo with a mono, not even close.
davsgold
to bad that ML don't seem to be liking the Algoforce e1500 in Australia
Rob Allison
Hi Guys, Just curious why on the Algoforce the "Threshold" was maxed out, while it looks like on the other detectors the "threshold" was set to normal or average level. Increasing the threshold to max on some detectors can increase signals, but I prefer a low level and listen better. Run that GPX 6000 to where it's just as noisy as the Algoforce and those targets should SCREAM! Just my thoughts on what I seen quickly in the video. Overall, the Algoforce seems to do well with the new NF Sadie 8x6 MK2 searchcoil. I'm not sure what the Algoforce costs but sounds like much cheaper than a $6500 GPX 6000 here in the US. A bit of time in the field and you get used to all the quirks and settings. The Sadie Mk2 is a good coil for it.

You bring up a good point, but it's the other way on the Algoforce, too high of a threshold will lessen the signal on the little targets or even miss them entirely, they're much more noticeable on a very low threshold, you're meant to run it with the threshold just audible. I couldn't tell by the plastic wrap what number the threshold was on but the bars look quite big so it's up pretty high, I think. He probably moved up the threshold playing around with it and forgot it was high. It helps with EMI moving it so that was a possibility if he was previously using it indoors at home testing stuff out. Lowering that threshold back down on the Algoforce would likely brighten up the little targets a fair bit. The Algoforce is about the equivalent of $1500 USD ($2275 AUD) without a coil or battery, so you need to add the $30 or so for a battery and whatever GPX coil you want to use on it. I have no idea what the USD price will be when it comes out there, you would assume a bit more due to the freight.
