I really like that Gold ring. The older style is just so classy. Why don’t you consider having it repaired and sized so you can wear it some? Fulfill it’s Destiny!👼.  I just got two back from my Jeweler for my wife to wear.

As far as cleaning your Dime, give it a thick coating of Navel Jelly. An hour or so should do it.  Q Tip & rinse. Repeat if needed.

Thanks for Posting.  When you can pick a Dime out of that mess you most certainly are dialed in.

10 feet above is sidewalk and road

Would you like to rent an excavator to remove those pesky obstacles?

Others might find the spot but might not be as good as you on the detecting part.

Thanks RVP!

I had considered that, at least somewhat. Most of the detectorists I see here are using the Equinox, but they should have hit the easier silver coins and the gold ring because of the low ID, heck I found one Barber dime right on the surface. The deep ones, co-located targets, or those either under or part of conglomeration not so much. I find lots of nickels there because of the machine difference as well, and know that others just leave them.

It is also possible that conditions this time of year are not attractive to those detectorists, this is "prime time" for me. 🤔

One time here I hunted with Chase, and we both came to the conclusion that we had to "see" things a bit differently, as the old nickels gave tones and IDs similar to bottle caps, but not quite. It was probably that lesson which gave me a huge advantage.

I for one use fairly radical settings on the Deus 2, I've tried other notable contributors' settings and programs but my own simply work better for me, I created mine from trying all sorts of adjustments on the fly.

I'm down to 2 programs, one for relics and one for beach. They are similar but only the beach program works well in a relic spot as a comparison program. The relic program really doesn't do well in the beach environment due to the salt and mineralization.

The strangest thing is that I much prefer the elliptical and heavier 11x13" coil to either of the round coils. I have and have tried all 3. In the dry and wet areas it is far superior with just a tweak to Reactivity (recovery speed on the EQX) when the going gets tough. I may yet bring my trusty old Nox to the party with the Coiltek 10x5 just to see the difference. If XP ever releases a smaller HF elliptical I'll be on it like a fly on 💩.

Dunno if you remember "Kung Fu", but I've had my "master moment", I feel like I've finally snatched the pebble from his hand...

Thanks JCR,

Even repaired it would probably have to be a child's ring size, at only a gram it's pretty tiny. Might make a cool pinky ring. I'd have to find more 10K to add the missing piece 🤔, my wife has pretty much taken all my other gold. 😅

I did buy some naval jelly a while back, I tried CLR for a short while but it did nothing. I'll post good results if I get them!

As for "dialing it in", see my thoughts above to our resident pirate... 🙂

Congrats! Some great finds there...can't wait for the storms to hit the west coast. Everything is sanded in at the moment!

Hasn't rained here in over a month. 😵 Expecting the "gales of November" soon, but the immediate future still looks fairly warm. I love the nice weather, but had to winterize my RV. 🤪 Farmers are getting the crops in early but the ground is hard so I bought a secret weapon:

That should do it 🤔

Congratulations, if there is something that I like more than Gold; It's Gold with history. And that little seal seems to have it. Also with your initial, that has to be a sign.

That men's wedding band came out this morning with the Nox 900.

It's from 1956 and also broken...

The water is colder now, but there are fewer competitors...

Always positive.

Mind the curvature of that pick. You have to dig wide of the pin point or you well hit the target. I learned that the hard way. It will get the job done, even in my brick hard red clay.

Thanks SV,

This is the third historic gold ring I've found, one about 150 years old, another ~300 years old, and this one at about 100. It's the first old one from a beach.

I love this hobby, especially for what I learn from it. 🙂

I wish you the best of luck this season! 🍀
