Small Elliptical?

My family has been asking me what I might want for Christmas.  I was thinking a small elliptical coil for the D2 might be nice. 🎉  How many of you would agree?

I thought I heard a little while back that XP was planning on making one.  Has anybody heard any further word on the potential timetable for a release?

Word was a small coil (5X10"?) for the Deus 2 would be out by the end of Summer.----now I've "heard" it makes its debut by the end of the year.----Speaking for myself--I've lost interest in it--mainly because of the neat M8 coil Minelab came out with for the Manticore.

What's that old saying again?

Oh yeah you snooze and you lose.

No doubt they will sell a ton of them (myself included) but by dragging their arses they have surely lost a fair share of the deus faithful.

Unfortunately I lost interest with that mythical elliptical coil too. If XP ever releases one and it works well, I might revisit Deus 2. At this point I don’t even have a Deus 2 anymore or really care one way or the other.

I still have my ORX with the white elliptical coil and a 9” X35. Good enough for now.

I just finished watching the Detectival 2024 video on Garys The skill school YouTube channel and other than a glimpse of a different version white coil on the Xtrem Hunter and one of the participants swinging a D1 with the White HF Elliptical there was not even a hint of any new coils.

Subliminal messages perhaps?

I'm still waiting for it, it would be nice if it came out in time for Christmas, that would sell more than afterward in the beginning of a new year when everyone is broke - from Christmas. 🤔 I can't imagine the marketing vs. production "infinite wisdom" that results in this sort of disappointment from any of the major players. It started for me with the Apex. 😵

I will get it if it shows up, probably first line if I can - better to drop only $400 on a coil than $1500 on another detector that won't really give me any or much of an advantage where I do most of my hunting.

It seems silly to read comments from those who don't have a Deus 2 anymore 😏 

I was lucky enough to be one of the first to get the 11x13, and really don't look back much. I rarely use the 9", and almost never use the 11". I don't know the science and don't care, ellipticals just work for me.

I'll just keep on finding all kinds of great stuff with the Deus, I couldn't be more pleased. 🙂

And for me it is the opposite , I always use a 9" 🙂 ...  Very happy with it . 

No need for a smaller coil at the moment , for what I am doing ( coin/relic hunting )

I know the feeling.  Ever since my family gave me the 11x13 about a year ago, I think I have used the 9” once.  The 11x13 seems to be doing a good job of pulling items from nail beds, and covers a lot more territory with the capability of more depth outside the dense iron areas.  At this point, I think I would only use the 9” if the 11x13 died, or to target a dense trashy area - and that is where a small elliptical should do better.
