Nice finds Lodge! 🏆 and silver.

My hat is off to you for digging in those woods, but hey if that's where you find cool stuff, it's what you do.

Well earned relics. Looks like it's going to be a warm November so dust off that bug repellent.

Hey Lodge,

Is that a silver thimble? 🤔

You guys on the east coast..we have ticks here on the west coast but not like you see over there...We lived in Virginia and Maryland when I was a kid (army brat) and I would get them constantly as I was always in the woods....I hate ticks and probably would consider a dose of Doxycycline every now and then as a prophylactic measure if I lived on the east coast lol

Ticks aren’t near as bad in East Texas now as when I was a kid back before Fire Ants moved in. Neither are snakes, and unfortunately, quail and Horned Toads.  But kill a wild hog or coyote and you better stand back. The ticks will just pour off them.

Strick, I have done the doxycycline a couple of times. I take precautions (DEET, permethrin, tuck my pant legs into my socks, etc.,) , but the only thing that really works is stripping down when I get home and checking closely.
