I took the Minelab GPX 5000 to the beach once - never again.

Just curious, you used the 13x11 DD coil, so did you happen to try using the Iron I.D function in that extreme salt.?

My guess is it would not be accurate, I know in bad mining ground it often is not.

And yes the headphone drop out I have been complaining about from the start, I may have to fix it myself.

Do the Axiom with an 11x7" mono coil need ground balancing when used on wet salt water beaches in US. ?

In general yes but it might be better not to depending on the beach and settings. Take this tip from the ATX....

Yes I used the iron ID on some targets. It's not accurate on anything deep. But it is useful in some cases with targets you can get closer to.

On a semi related topic i can't seem to drown out my Apex i hit ocean beaches almost every night on my way home usually working the wet sand but occasionally getting slammed by a 4 foot wall of white water and having to kinda body surf out but i always thought an Axiom is a bit expensive for that foolishness but then i started thinking maybe if you just ruined the control module it wouldn't be that crazy expensive, does anyone have an idea?
