From what I see and heard that being a elliptical coil there is no room for the battery to be placed in the coil and therefore it has to go in the lower rod.

Thanks for shipping my XP Deus II Complete Carbon-Fiber S-Shaft System and two lower rods out quickly. Had the setup out a couple times and they are working great.

Anybody looking to upgrade their XP Deus, Steve is offering a great deal now.

The good bit about being in the lower rod is it's so easy to replace the batteries when they fail.    I've even had a lock up type problem with my 10x5 HF coil with the D1 where disconnecting the battery was the only solution I could find to fix it, it refused to charge until doing so, try do that with a coil embedded battery. I like them in the shaft much better, the water users won't feel the same unless they have a new waterproof version of the lower shaft for it which is entirely possible.

This long-awaited coil has sparked my interest in the D2 again.

Will this new coil be compatible with my XP Deus WS6 Master Puck?

I'm sure they will release an update for both the RC unit and the WS6. 🙂

Phrunt,

At least as far as the D1 HF coil is cocncerned, is the battery cylindrical?  Does it fit inside some sort of "trapezoidal adapter," to make it fit snugly in the XP lower rod?  I assume there's a wire to connect the battery to the coil, that must protrude from the lower rod drain hole?

It sounds like from your post, that it is "removable" from the lower rod, but I can't picture how it all works...

Here are a couple of photos of my 9" HF coil, The 9.5x5" is the same, but its on my rig at the moment.

I like this design much better than the battery in the coil, and it wouldn't be hard for them to waterproof it.

Thanks, phrunt.

SO, looks like an "adapter" around the battery, shaped the same as the inside of the shaft...and then with a wire that runs down through the shaft, to the coil.

Hmm.

The battery is the entire black bit, and the screw in cable to the battery, the battery includes the little cap that holds it into the shaft, so all you would need I would guess is the same shape shaft.
