Hunterjunk
Had a very strange experience with my Manticore on Monday and am wondering if anybody else has had a similar occurrence . I had been detecting for about 15 minutes when suddenly all sound ceased , a look at the screen revealed a continual flashing Minelab over a black screen . The machine would not respond to any button presses except power off . On powering up again everything was normal and it ran fine for the next 2 hours . I hope the machine is not on the way to a full failure and now have to take the Nox as a backup machine just in case . Ideas or experiences anyone ? Tony
Haven't experienced that one yet but I'm guessing a software glitch that needed a re-boot to get up and running again......no different to most home PC's I guess. I'd be interested to see what Minelab has to say though. 1 Link to comment https://www.detectorprospector.com/topic/27091-manticore-hiccup/#findComment-285181 Share on other sites

okara gold
A somewhat similar event has happened to me several times. Earphones plugged in, using it on the beach. When waving the coil back and forth over a target, the audio suddenly quits. Numbers still work but no sound. Only by turning the machine off and back on the problem goes away. Happened about three times in the past couple of months. 2 Link to comment https://www.detectorprospector.com/topic/27091-manticore-hiccup/#findComment-285280 Share on other sites
cuniagau
Back in the early days of the personal computer, IBM had a power switch on the right side of the computer near the rear of the machine. The term we used was BRS. That stands for Big Red Switch. It would solve 99% of the problems back then. No gold but a few relics . We have had a huge amount of rain leaving my gold spot flooded . While the machine was bug free the little voice of doubt lurks in my head still . okara gold
Glad it worked out well for you...as far as the machine goes. Gold on your next trip and don't listen to all the little voices in your head. 😆 1 Link to comment https://www.detectorprospector.com/topic/27091-manticore-hiccup/#findComment-285538 Share on other sites
