I just claimed an old mine that I found had expired. I can't find any history on it other than asking around the small town. One guy remembers going in it as a child and said it goes way back. Apparently an old timer owned and worked it by himself for decades. It appears he died the year before last and the family let it expire.

The adit looks like it's in great condition. Lots of newer pressure treated 8x8s, tracked, and two ore carts. An old air line that is unusable. It did have a collapse 25-50' in that looks like I can clear fairly easily in the Spring after I retimber a spot or two.

A spot like this around here is hard to come by even if it doesn't turn out good. I can't believe I was able to grab it. So far I found a few colors sampling off the wall before the collapse, but nothing near worth running.

I know the only way I'll know is to sample and assay. But considering the amount of work and money he put into it, what do you think the chances are it'll turn out to be a workable vein with decent grade ore?

That's anybody's guess at this point. It's gonna be interesting to see what you come up with!

That's kinda what I figured, but thought I might as well get some opinions.

With the insane cost of pressure treated 8x8's, I can't imagine he did that for nothing. But for all I know he get it all before dying. They do look fairly new though.

By my calculation just timbering to the collapse near the portal would cost over $3,000!

I'd be excited about it. You better keep us updated.

Keep us updated and stay safe inside there. I'd make sure to get the airline repaired and working, along with getting a pet canary or two to take in there with you. When you get a chance send some pictures of the place. Be interesting to know why the family let it expire.

I'd be up for investing depending on several things. What state is it in & what mining district. More research needs to be done on the history end. Current samples & estimates to capital needed to get it operational. I would need input on all financial decisions.
