Wow, so I am guessing it was a specimen that had the quartz dissolved away? Sierra Nevada or Alaska?  Hopefully wasn’t from a person feeling guilty about having it.

Nice nugget and I would bet it came from Steve H on one of his hunts. I might be wrong but with his skills you never know. My next guess would be from Gerry.

Actually there have been some very large nuggets found in southern Indiana, and in one of their creeks I have found a .52 ounce nugget myself.

It states in the article that the nugget is from Australia.

"The nugget's unique form and place of origin, Australia, is expected to bring a much higher price at auction than the market value."
