Hopefully Oz will get the same price reduction

Unfortunately with the Aussie dollar (Peso) going south very fast, I can't see any price drops here in Australia. The Axiom lite is currently $5000 Aussie dollars or about $3100 US dollars.

I guess the good news is that the Minelab detectors are less expensive there than here in the U.S… I wish we had your lower Minelab pricing here.
I guess having a friend in both places can make thing’s equal out with just a nominal shipping fee. To bad warranties are usually not available outside of a region though.

If Garrett sort out their international pricing they have potential for massive market share growth.  The 24k is the best single frequency gold detector, the Axiom is now priced to sell very well and extremely good value in the US, the Vortex at the right price would do well, their pricing has been holding them back severely outside of the US.  I have no idea how they can resolve it but they need to, Nokta manages to sell internationally at good pricing.

As for those in the US you are lucky to get Axioms at that price, a great deal.

We certainly get Minelab cheaper by a significant amount, especially the 6000 and 7000.  Your 6000 price is bad but your 7000 price is unbelievable.

Clearly there’s a competitive market for a low end cheap PI and Garrett seems to have recognised that and acted accordingly, a pretty impressive price reduction on a quality machine in a rising costs environment. 😯

Now I suppose we all need to wait with baited breath to see what ML does 🤔.  Interesting seeing the other players battle it out in the lower cost PI arena, hurry up Nokta while there’s still some gold to be had!😊

Minelab has always been good about filling in the gaps in their market holes. So I was surprised with them when they failed to react 2 1/2 years ago when the Axiom first came out and then thought surely with the Algoforce out for over 1 year now that they would have reacted to this low end market with a better option, but so far crickets.
Hopefully Minelab will be coming forward with a solution to this current situation in a timely manner. To add we have a very large relic and jewelry PI market place in the U.S. that needs some sort of discrimination and waterproofing to fill the current options void.
On a good note Minelab has recently reacted very quickly with several competitively priced coin & relic options when XP and Nokta came  to the market place with their SMF/VLF options.

Problem is all the known gold patches are slowly being hammered by 6000 users so the small shallow stuff that the Algo and Axiom do OK on is being sniffed up at an alarming pace, especially in the lower mineralisation areas.

Point well taken as this is definitely a reality here too.

The 6000 with the smaller coil options have depleted my old  small gold patches here also to the point that makes one wonder how many more inches Minelab could possibly bring back to the table with the next generation models in these small gold areas. I have also tried almost every other brand PI over these patches and pretty much always come away empty handed also. But at least now we have the option to pound old ground with a lower costing detector that can still perform quite impressively and also be able to use target ID/Iron Reject in the many mineralized rubbish sites found here.

It's just as much of a problem for Minelab as anyone, they make products that are self defeating, at some point they become useless no matter how good they are to their owner.

Those so called 6000 cleaned out gold areas are now no good for same 6000 owners either so they eventually get put in the cupboard or sold.

What these cheaper PI's will do is bring more boots onto the ground, the more people exploring around the more gold will be found regardless of how well those doing it think they've cleaned it up.

I've found gold in some silly places, places where those more experienced likely wouldn't focus their time, to experts it's beginners luck, when really it's exploring ground others haven't and these new cheap PI's will bring in plenty of beginners luck situations.

I don't believe you need to use the best detector to find gold, you do however need to put in the time and effort and those that do with the Algo, Axiom or Nokta will be successful just like the many still successful with the older GPX and even VLF's

I’d take the Axiom over the Algo any day, but not in Straylia unless the price comes down to similar levels to the Algo, the quality of the Axiom allows it to be an easy AU$500 extra, so AU$3000 to AU$3500 with the smaller D coil on the Lite version to compete with the Algo here in Oz would be salubrious.

It would be nice if the Axiom-lite had a relic/beach hunters version package that had a one coil DD option that then could utilize the iron reject feature on this detector, especially when hunting civil war sites. There could still also be the current dig it all version for the nugget hunter with the mono coil package option.
The U.S. marketplace primarily has a large market place for relic/jewelry hunters even more so than our nugget markets. Kinda the opposite from what I hear from Oz where it’s more about nugget hunting with gold being though out the country.

Getting to new ground is the most important factor, and away from easy access by car. Once a patch has been mined with the 6000 and 7000, there won't be anything left to find with a lower cost detector, unless the operator was not thorough. Conversely, a rich new patch can successfully be mined with a lower cost PI, at least initially. But be aware of those 6000/7000 guys, be there first.

Exactly Ron! A waterproof version could be easily done by Garrett, in my opinion! Nothing extensive, 10 ft would be fine! With the recent price drop, I would buy one immediately!

My TDI SL's are doing an OK job, but one good wave, drop, or stumble, and it would most likely be toast! Also, Algoforce has had requests, and time, to make a waterproof verson, before it hits the states! And no doubt, Nokta's PI will come out of the gate waterproof already; so theirs that!🍀👍👍
