Yeah, the Anfibio coils are 100% compatible with the Nokta Impact – I’m using Anfibio coils on my Impact and they work perfectly. The 7-inch concentric is fantastic on the Impact. The updating cable you seek is the USB mini type, which is easy enough to find anywhere. 1 Link to comment https://www.detectorprospector.com/topic/27413-updating-the-nokta-impact/page/2/#findComment-287953 Share on other sites
Sal.D
Steve showed me where the inlet is to do the update. I tried a anfibio coil works fine but cable is a little long I curled it into 2 small loops and used a velcro strap to hold cable. Sticks out but fine for hunting yards and parks but probably not good for wooded areas 1 Link to comment https://www.detectorprospector.com/topic/27413-updating-the-nokta-impact/page/2/#findComment-287955 Share on other sites

Anfibio coil works fine just that cable is a little longer and sticks out a little where it goes into rod. I looped it around twice and velcroed to rod as it sticks out a little but for parks and yards would be fine 1 Link to comment https://www.detectorprospector.com/topic/27413-updating-the-nokta-impact/page/2/#findComment-287957 Share on other sites

Steve I was confused about the download it says if you have the green wireless headphones to put it on channel 3 or below and if you have the red headphones 4 or above and then says something about keeping the wifi in the off position ?? Anyone have any idea 💡 if I should leave the wifi channel in the off position or channel 3 with my green headphones when doing the update Link to comment https://www.detectorprospector.com/topic/27413-updating-the-nokta-impact/page/2/#findComment-287973 Share on other sites
Sal.D
11 hours ago, Steve Herschbach said: Please stop spamming the forum with this question and give people time to answer before posting all over the place. I've deleted the multiple posts. Thanks. Concentric coils work fine on the Impact if you can find one - they were discontinued. From the update info on Nokta website: Looks like a standard mini USB cable. Steve not sure on installing download to have wifi off or on 3 for the green edition or 4 or above for the red edition headphones. A bit confusing when I read it on Noktas site Link to comment https://www.detectorprospector.com/topic/27413-updating-the-nokta-impact/page/2/#findComment-288006 Share on other sites
Steve Herschbach
I only know what it says, just like you. Contact your dealer or Nokta if you need more instructions than what they have there or if you give it more time, like a couple days, maybe somebody will chime in. Expecting instant answers is not realistic as we all don't live on the forum 24/7. That's not quite what it says. Here are the actual instructions: After doing one minute of googling, I verfied my suspicion that the Nokta Green Edition wireless Phones (which came with the original Nokta Simplex+) are a NEWER generation than the Nokta Red Edition wireless phones and that helped me to better interpret what Nokta was actually attempting to convey in the above update notes: This software update from 2017 merely adds compatibility with the Red Edition and later (non-bluetooth) wireless Nokta phones by adding channels 4 and 5 and an Off setting. What this note is saying is that if you are using a set of older (pre-Red Edition) Nokta wireless phones with your Impact, you can only use channels 0 - 3 after the update even though channels 4 and 5 were added (for Red and later wireless phone compatibility). So it wants to make sure you keep the detector set to one of those channels before the update to ensure you can reconnect after the update. It also recommends utilizing the newly added Off setting (after the update) when you are not using your wireless phones for detecting (i.e., you are using the speaker or wired phones), probably to extend battery life by turning off the wireless transmitter in the detector. Therefore, if you have the Green Edition wireless headphones those are actually a "newer" version than the Red Edition wireless phones, so if they work with your Impact (and you have the wireless "Off" setting in your menu), that means you already have the latest Impact software installed and no need to do the update. Whew. That was a long trip to nowhere. You can now enjoy your new Anfibio concentric coils on your Impact with the peace of mind of knowing it is already fully updated.
