Waiting for another update before I use it again, except at maybe the beach. It's fine beach hunting.

Probably hit Vortex burnout. It’s just a detector, and it works.

It’s been subjected to the most bazaar test a metal detector has ever been subjected to by “experts.” One test showed that if you notch out the nickel ID, same as the test gold ring, you may have to dig perfectly flat 1.5-inch square foil pieces. Tester refused to use normal foil samples like you’d find in a park which seems to work just fine. It wasn’t clear why you’d notch out a nickel if you’re trying to hit gold.
In another test, the entire screen was notched out except for one notch. It was shone that you could get a little chatter if the detector went near a target close to the open notch. Not the best choice if you hunt with only one notch open.
Other than that, it’s a pretty fun detector.
If you want to go really deep, it’s better to avoid the middle tier and move on to one of the big boys.

It’s also an emotional detector. It can be used to detect strange emotional behavior just by mentioning it.

Well i talked to someone that is in contact with the guys at Garrett. They are working on another update. No release date mentioned. Hopefully they get a few more of these things worked out.

Well, I'm in the painful process of waiting for mine to charge before updating the firmware and taking it for a spin, a few hours so far and it's gone up to 2 bars, getting there!

Well i took mine out in my woods tonight after work.   Had a deep signal that had some iron tone mixed in. No TID. A little over pinpointer deep i found a native copper nugget.  At this stage of firmware i recommend digging deep scratchy tones with no TID. Also found my first nickel with it lol. I've dug so many 52s and finally found one!
