jschner
Been lurking on these boards for a bit reading the wealth of information. Great content here. Name is Jim lived in Yuma the last 7 years. Retired two years ago at 57 because I could till the desk job was not good for my health. Great move on my part! Prior to Yuma is was up in Redding, California area. Been gold prospecting as a hobby there for years, never finding much but it got me outdoors. Picked up a used Tesoro Lobo ST years ago and that helped me find the lead in small creeks in Northern California and I'd dig that material out and run it through a sluice. Never found a nugget with it directly, but it helped find the lead and small flake gold and maybe a couple pickers. Just last year a couple friends got me into relic detecting. The LST was just as sensitive maybe slightly more so than my friends ATPros, but what a nightmare the LST was in handling trash. It was not fun digging countless junk. Ended up getting a Nokta Legend last year and that has been a game changer. Still learning that thing, but it upped the fun factor a lot. Still hunting for that first nugget, that might be a challenge in Yuma, but not impossible as I dry wash a little and the pickers are still out there. Also joined the SPMA club out of San Diego. Fun group of people there. Anyway, great forum even when lurking, hoping to learn more. Anyone in the Yuma area, by all means hit me up.
