Apologies if this has been covered elsewhere but have come across an application in IP Australia by Nokta for a design filing titled Nokta Active Magnetic Sensor Technology lodged November 2024. Wonder if this relates to their new PI machines?

Would that not mean it's got some sort of discrimination?  Seeing magnets are only attracted to ferrous stuff.

Well beyond my brain.

Interesting that it was filed in Australia. Or cheeky.

What i found interesting is that that its a patent application for a design not for the unique technology (maybe that's still to be lodged).  It could be that a detector with Active Magnetic Sensor has to look different to what is currently in the market so its an easier way to deny competitors this new technology.

All metal detector coils produce a magnetic field, so its likely pertaining to their new PI designs. Without the full context, its impossible to determine exactly how. But, this shows that because this has been lodged specifically within Australia, this is targeted directly at their product competitor...Minelab. A worldwide patent will no doubt follow. Very good news, suggesting that new PI tech is being worked on by Nokta.
