Pretty cool MitchelI, Thanks for posting it!  Wow, those things come in just like bullets, you wouldn’t have time to know what hit you if you were standing there.

Actually, I should have said a meteor striking.  As soon as it hits it then becomes a meteorite!

It has been stated that the earth is showered with tons of similar material each year.  Some of it is dust in the atmosphere but some strikes.

I haven't done a search for similar videos but with all the cameras around now I'd say there are some chances that unknown vandalisms in the past could be from unseen meteors.

I’m just amazed how hard it hit, pulverized to mostly dust. Can you imagine what that would have been like standing near it when it hit?

I imagine it is a chondrite.  They will shatter when hitting a solid, hard surface.  Now if it was an iron ...

You would also have to wonder if there was more.  I have a story about the meteor that struck Holbrook, AZ and there were pieces of it flying all over the place kicking up dust.  I went there at exactly 100 years to the date it struck with some of the meteorite hunters I know.

I was taking a picture of them taking this picture.

If it hadn't hit the sidewalk then we wouldn't be watching this video.  It would just plunk into the grass or the field unnoticed.
