  • The title was changed to Minelab 900 Upper Pod Mount

I don,t have one, but it appears that it may be able to be moved! A picture of the flip side would be helpful too! Also can't tell if it has any detents in the shaft/ mount interface that would preclude adjustment! If all else fails, a call to ML service can probably provide an answer! Or an aftermarket, adapter like you could buy for the 800! Good luck!🍀👍👍

Just wondering midalake. Did you make that thick black permanent marker line that's on the shaft at the right hand side of the pic, or was it already on there? I would have thought they would have a jig with an end stop if the shaft had been drilled during manufacture, with no need to mark its placement?

The PA66 is the type of Nylon the bracket is made from. If they have glued it to the shaft you might be better off either getting a replacement part from Minelab if available, or maybe finding someone with a 3D printer to print you something that you can glue on yourself, at what I assume is a different place somewhere along the shaft?

PA66 GF

The GF will mean it's glass fibre loaded plastic, to give it strength. I think any conventional 3d-printed 'equivalent' will not be adequately strong.

I see a potential lathe job there: put the round rod in the chuck, and bore out the rod inside the bonded-on plastic part until it's gone. Maybe a bit of abrasive paper will clean it out, until its suitable for re-bonding on a new shaft.

Yes, made that mark before I did some tapping. Do not think my project will work out.

I wondered what the GF stood for PimentoUK. The fix in the lathe sounds like a good way to go if midalake has access to one 👍
