Chris and I are headed south. Going to poke around the Johnnie, NV area. If anybody's in the area, stop and say "hi". We'll be in my white Dodge 4x4 with an aluminum flatbed, towing a little white, Casita camp trailer. We plan on staying at the campground by the "Gold Searchers of Southern Nevada" gold claim north of Johnnie. We're members, so have access to the claim. I'll be testing the dry sluices, and the Arc Geo-Logger in conjunction with both the Discovery 1200 two-box, and the two-coil setup I built for my Whites 6000 XL Pro. We plan on lunch at Gemma's Cafe in Beatty, NV in the early afternoon on Thursday the 23rd, on the way down.Great food and gracious hosts at Gemma's. They always allow us to use their water to flush the "winterizer" from the camper, and fill all our water containers. Good people.

Good luck with your search. We are interested in that area of Nevada as well. Would like to hear how your Casita handles the temps and will be picking ours up in March.  Thank you for the tip on Gemma's.

Joe, you're going to love that Casita! I had some serious specs I wanted in a camp trailer, after a lifetime in the outdoors. I've had big ones, and homebuilt ones, so knew what I wanted. Had to have the same wheel track as the Dodge. Had to be small enough to be maneuvered in the trees and brush. Had to have a shower, and toilet (for Chris...LOL). Had to be rugged enough for two track travel. Had to be single-axle. The Casita fitted all of that. I'm still amazed at how those guys packed all the features into a smaller unit. I added a solar setup (built myself) to the rear, so it sits on the frame, and has no load on the bumper. 300 watts, and completely adjustable for rotation and angle. Also two LiFePO 100 amp/hour batteries. We have never run out of power for all our devices. Trust me, you'll like it.

Well, heck. Looks like the weather is turning against us down there. Cooler temps, and a chance of precip. We're going to delay a week. Weather here is going to stay cold and dry, so roads should still be OK next week.
