Popular Post cjc
Its always thought that smaller coils are needed to get the chains but I got this one with the 15". I pay a lot of attention to running a balaced signal and never knock the iron out. It's 7.1 grams and came from a busy slope. I ran the machine up at 24 Sens by keeping the coil out of the incoming waves on that horizontal pass. I think this chain was missed by a top pro using the stock coil on a NOX 900--the 15" just had more depth. I also used high quality headphones with the U/W boost on. cjc 14 1 2 Link to comment https://www.detectorprospector.com/topic/27599-an-18k-chain-with-the-manticore-15-coil/ Share on other sites

NICE Chain! I was out with my 15" on the Equinox yesterday.[not the 11"] 😉 Cannot speak for the Manticore. But I cannot get more performance [depth] out of my 15" Equinox coil. The EMI and black sand just affect it more. I have to run 1 sensitivity less almost all the time [at least]. Moving water contact really sets the 15" coil back at this beach. 3 Link to comment https://www.detectorprospector.com/topic/27599-an-18k-chain-with-the-manticore-15-coil/#findComment-289740 Share on other sites

TampaBayBrad
Great catch! Can't wait till the busy beach season gets here and the water warms. I use my 15" in the water a lot. 2 Link to comment https://www.detectorprospector.com/topic/27599-an-18k-chain-with-the-manticore-15-coil/#findComment-289754 Share on other sites

I've found bigger but I like the color of that one and hitting it with the 15" coil tells me that my tuning and headphones are working. Prospecting audio seems to be better on those types of targets--ones without a lot of surface area. Here's another small item I got with the stock oil running "Freestyle" --also good on the small and mis shapen stuff. Its 5 gr. 22k. cjc 4 Link to comment https://www.detectorprospector.com/topic/27599-an-18k-chain-with-the-manticore-15-coil/#findComment-289915 Share on other sites
