Popular Post stupot
Good name for a bar! Not been to this spot for over 2 years. This is because it was pretty poor overall but did have a good long history of finds for me. Took the Deus just to make sure I don't forget Ive got another machine, the Manticore has become more my main tool at present. I went back because we've had three good storms & I'd done much hunting elsewhere so it was time. There is a clay backed cliff where many items have been eroded from over years. There had been some big water over the area with plenty of erosion about. Some spots where deep in sand from the tide pushing this from the eroded areas. Good amount of stony exposures with clay quite shallow gives a good likely edge before you even switch on. Stuff tends to be pretty poor condition but old items nearly always come up. Working the area systematically as possible as soon as the water dropped. Coins were there in groups & often exposed, the green standing out. These are a mixture of older modern coins & a few 18th c coppers that show here, plus a few other bits of interest. I worked the Deus pretty hard keeping it quiet & stable as possible knowing the bottom was only a couple of inches deep at best with iron ever present. In the end, I went back three times covering & expanding the spot as far as I could go digging a bit less each time. The last run I really had to work hard for much longer, always happy there's less than when I started. One stray modern silver ring showed plus a few scrap silver coins. One did turn out to be a 13th c Medieval silver penny which is always good to find on the coast. The crusty buckle is later 16th c, buckles are one of my favourite finds. Second last photo are two encrusted silver coins, paper thin when cleaned with nothing to ID, likely to be William III Sixpences from the 1690's, from past experiences. Final photo shows coins & knife completely encrusted, sometimes something special pops out, but not this time. This beach is one my old mentor first brought me too many years ago. Teaching me so much for so long - a first class eyes only hunter. 10 1 Link to comment https://www.detectorprospector.com/topic/27719-lucky-strike/ Share on other sites

F350Platinum
Wow. All that and hammered. 👍 And you even get "wrapped" items that keep giving! Outstanding hunt, love the finds pics! We of course are all a bit jealous here 😏 1 Link to comment https://www.detectorprospector.com/topic/27719-lucky-strike/#findComment-290803 Share on other sites
