Popular Post Fugio
The snow finally melted and the ground thawed, just enough to dig anyways. I was able to make my way out to the colonial site where I found the other coppers several weeks ago. I only got to spend an hour there but it was well worth it as I found another NJ and KG. Looks like the NJ was holed with a square nail. While both coins had iron in the hole, the KG actually had a piece of iron stuck to it and you can see the iron stain on the bottom left of the coin in the first picture. I hope to get back out there soon to see if there is anything left... 10 Link to comment https://www.detectorprospector.com/topic/27723-a-couple-coppers/ Share on other sites
F350Platinum
That is really incredible! π I've found a few old coppers but mine are usually so toasted I can't really get a read. Still waiting to find a state copper. π€ Great stuff! 2 Link to comment https://www.detectorprospector.com/topic/27723-a-couple-coppers/#findComment-290716 Share on other sites

Lodge Scent
Nice digs Fugio. It seems with most NJ coppers that the obverse is often completely toasted but you can often make out the shield on the reverse. 1 Link to comment https://www.detectorprospector.com/topic/27723-a-couple-coppers/#findComment-290783 Share on other sites
