Good job @okara gold

I'm grateful for a final switch to the prospecting audio mode.

With the M9 I feel better covering a little more space and with some points lower in sensitivity I can even dive with it.

Great find on the gold and I bet Brad is correct about a toe ring.

Those wave rings are all over Hawaii! I find them a lot.

I purchased a 9" coil but have yet to try it because I want the better 11" coverage. Maybe I should just give the 9 a try? Do you notice not covering a lot of ground swinging the 9?

Yep, It must be a toe ring. Haven't found one of those in awhile.

There is less coverage using the 9 but I am running my sensitivity a lot higher on the salt beaches always looking for small gold. In a trashy environment the 9 inch is the way to go or even the M8.

Nice ring! Do you remember what the ID was?

Thanks. The ID was a 7.

That is one of the things I'm quickly leaning, I have 3 coils (9,11,15) but think the M9 is the best. After reading what you wrote from others as well, I made sure I got the M9. 🙂

I still switch back to the 8 now and then but it is so sensitive I'm digging things I can hardly see.

I swing the 9 much more smoothly and it still hits the small gold.

Nice showing of gold! I have been using the prospecting mode for 2 years now and really like it. I think I have read you are using Beach LC in the salt water.

I have tried the Beach LC in the water but it is just too noisy for me and only by lowering the sensitivity down a lot is it usable, and I feel I am losing too much depth.

I am getting more comfortable with Beach General in the water.

Exactly...I only use LC with a level of 21 to 24 and r.s. of 5.

Actually I never tried the general, not even on the wetsand.

Recently I see more and more folks talking well about it.

Maybe the next session I'll give it a try.

At first i went back and forth between my 9" and 11", even after I modified my 11" and I've settled on the 9". My 15 and 8 are just collecting dust. If you get close to a target on the 9 you will hear it, especially using prospecting allowing you to stop and investigate it further. Your fears of FOMO will go away quite rapidly I suspect.

It happened to me too.

Now I can reasonably say that with the "extra sensitivity" to gold on the Manticore, adopting a smaller coil it is mandatory to avoid ground masking more than ferrous masking.....
