PeterInSa
Hey Simon, Re (The Legendary GPX 4500 is Back But Only for a Limited Time.) Stop pushing this detector, (just joking) Its been used in Vic Goldfields since 2008, along with later Minelab detectors, 4800, 5000, 2300, 6000 and 7000. If making a choice with limited funds, I would choose a 2nd hand 2300 for Vic, but would be OK for WA. But a Mk11 Sadie purchase and a new release NF coil will help and in the future, a mod by Mick in Dunolly. 2 1 Link to comment https://www.detectorprospector.com/topic/27810-minelab-gpx-4500-is-back/page/11/#findComment-292656 Share on other sites

Over 20,000 of them were sold in the Middle East-Africa alone. Thanks to the great Nth African gold rush of 2009-2012. The total number sold could well be double that! Tony
Just one more run........of GPX4500's. When only the toughest will do. Chuck doesn't actually need a metal detector because the nuggets jump out of the ground in fright. Fishing8046
It is not the detector that finds the gold it is the detectorist. 1 1 1 Link to comment https://www.detectorprospector.com/topic/27810-minelab-gpx-4500-is-back/page/11/#findComment-292856 Share on other sites
Tony
Except a lot of the time, I see detector operators wandering around the goldfields in the hope of finding gold. When this is the case, it is the detector that finds the gold. But with Chuck, then I agree with you completely. 1 Link to comment https://www.detectorprospector.com/topic/27810-minelab-gpx-4500-is-back/page/11/#findComment-292863 Share on other sites
geof_junk
3 hours ago, Francis Freund said: I have a gp3000 is the 4500 that much better? It really depends on how much you use it and how much you find in that time. Let say you use it 8 hours a week and you find 4 ounces in a year. That is US$12,000 but if you only find ¼ of an ounce that is only $750. Now if the ML4500 is 20% better then your extra returns is $2400 for the 4 oz and $150 for a ¼ oz Note:- I don't think ML4500 is 20% better but do your sums and let us know what your view is. To me if you are very experience and do a lot of detecting the the best detector is the way to go. 1 Link to comment https://www.detectorprospector.com/topic/27810-minelab-gpx-4500-is-back/page/11/#findComment-292883 Share on other sites
phrunt
The dealers are starting to have stock of the 4500's now, $3499 AUD ($2225 United States dollars) and includes 3 commander coils, and dealers like Lucky Strike in OZ are including a free full days training with it, pretty incredible deal. I'd personally rather it be cheaper with no coils included as most won't want those three Commander coils anyway. 4 Link to comment https://www.detectorprospector.com/topic/27810-minelab-gpx-4500-is-back/page/11/#findComment-293611 Share on other sites

Subtract AU$500 I reckon....Darren would have to pay me to take those coils.....he looks extra happy in that pic! "Sh*t!....Ive gotta sell 8 of these dinosaurs?" <face-palm> Link to comment https://www.detectorprospector.com/topic/27810-minelab-gpx-4500-is-back/page/11/#findComment-293617 Share on other sites
abenson
Personally I would hold off on buying one of those 4500's until we know what Nokta has to offer. 4 Link to comment https://www.detectorprospector.com/topic/27810-minelab-gpx-4500-is-back/page/11/#findComment-293618 Share on other sites
