This is what I read from the report:

Promote new products & expand channels to market • Release next generation of detectors across recreational, gold and Countermine over the coming 6 to 18 months • Grow recreational market share via expansion of retail distribution footprint in US & Europe, leveraging eCommerce channel • Enhancing high-powered marketing, branding and consumer experience capability, while reinforcing brand presence and reputational strength overtime

Any thoughts???? what do they mean by next gen, next gen of GPZ 7000?

😗

Yes, very likely. Word is, that the GPZ replacement has been finalized for a few years now. Minelab are always 5 years ahead in R&D with new product, tech and innovation. They only release these when the economic situation for the company demands it. Obviously, this is now.

really sounds like time to sell my GPZ 7000 and 6000

I would keep the 6K, sell the 7K. The 6K will likely compliment the new 8K in many ways. If you can afford to keep it, do so. I regret not being able to keep mine every day.

I had to sell my 6k also, but the two less expensive PI alternatives we have now are a good substitute considering the price difference. And as ML just raised the prices on their higher end detectors, I wonder if they will raise the price bar a lot higher for what they’ll be selling the ‘next gen’ detectors for? If so, the 8k won’t be selling for $8k like what happened with the 6 and 7k’s. If this is the case, I will only be looking at used ML units if any,  but I don’t see that happening for awhile anyway as I was able to afford one of the other PI brands as a replacement. It’ll be interesting to see what ML does anyway.

E1500 mostly, along with 5000 and Nokta Legend (where ground allows). Im aiming to sell a kidney for when the 8000 is released.  😁

I can affrod both but I only use 1-2 month per year. I wana deep nuggets and big ones so sounds like keeping 7000 better??

If you are planning on buying an 8000 for over $10K, this will probably supersede your 7000.....so the 6K is the one to keep. Your decision of course.....

Keep in mind there is no guarantee's they're going to be releasing an 8000, it could be a Gold Monster 2000 and a new cheaper PI to compete with the Algo/Axiom/Nokta.  I can't believe for a minute they'll just ignore this segment of the market, especially when Nokta will go worldwide with their release rather than the more limited sales of the Algoforce in Au/Nz and just starting in the US and the Axiom really only being the USA where its viable to buy although starting to be a better priced in Australia now.

I'm going to sit out any new high end Minelab gold detector, I'm happy with my current gear and just can't justify the expense.
