leapfrog technology

Sounds exactly like what Ive been saying for over 2 years now, the staff at Minelab ARE excited about this new tech and performance. If they werent excited about the 6000 prior to release, they certainly ARE about this one. The GM1000, SDC2300 AND GPZ7000 are well past their prime with the latter 2 being 10 years+ after release. Which model is gonna get replaced  alongside the GPZ?  Roll the dice.....

True dat.... never any 'guarantees' about ML releasing something when you expect or anticipate. Look how old the 7000 is now. The complete lack of competition has allowed this unit to drag on for 10 years. If they release anything else but the 8000, its gonna be 'meh' for serious operators though.....

Zed will be a hard unit to top without new technology. (none of which has leaked)

Having covered ground after 6000s, It'll take some convincing to show me a more superior detector all round than the Zed.

What if the new GPZ (or whatever it may be called) has the ergonomics of the 6000........🤔

A feature, not an expansion of tech. (IMO)

I know a lot of people who would buy the 7000 based on the ergonomics of the 6000.......purely for that alone.

As I stated. Won't effect performance or make a difference to those that own one. Unless a little thin in the arms?!

Thin in the arms? What about age, a persons stature and strength. Bad ergonomics and weight equals fatigue even on the thickest of arms.
Fatigue equals missed signals, less detecting time. That effects the prospectors performance.

I own 2 7000’s and a 6000. If they bought out a lightweight version of the 7000 I’d snap it up in a heart beat.

This was exactly the point I was trying to make earlier and I would purchase a 7000 "Brain" in a 6000 "Body".

I'm confident that Minelab will (have) address the weight factor in whatever new model gold detector they bring out.

Hopefully it will be released for the Aussie winter season 2025. If not, then my GP3500 lives on 😍

If anything, a new detector has to be a lightweight one for me- I’m fit and am just a lightweight part-timer and am noticing a sore elbow, etc., after a day.  That’s a warning sign of worse things to come if I kept doing it a lot, now that I’m retired, with a heavier detector. There are several long time detectorists here with rotator cuff and shoulder issues caused by swinging for years that can attest to this.
