Popular Post phrunt
A giant thanks to @VicR for finding the pictures of this detector, as it was in the Nokta part of the forum I figured it's best to give it more exposure here as not everyone that would be interested in this might view the Nokta section. A link to the original thread. A summary of what we know so far from the forum's Detector Database. The Nokta PI Gold is a new pulse induction metal detector undergoing testing now by Nokta for release in 2025. Two models have been announced, one aimed at gold prospectors, and another at relic hunters. A naming contest was held that ended April 30th, 2024 but the names have not been released yet. This site will be updated with the actual names and other information as it becomes available. Some speculation exists around why two models are required and what the difference will be between the gold prospecting model and the relic detecting model. For now a video promises that Nokta will do for the pulse induction market what they have done for the VLF market. Bring more power at more affordable prices. From the video screenshot: PULSE INDUCTION - Just like we changed the standard in VLF, we will do the same for pulse induction detectors! Both for gold prospectors and relic hunters! We will redefine affordability and performance for you to break free from the grip of overpriced alternatives! High-End For The Toughest Soils Waterproof & Rugged Affordable Small & Larger Nuggets / Relics And their submission to the Australian Government's IP Design website reveals it's pictures. The pictures were a bit awkward but I've fixed them up a bit for better viewing, to me it looks a fantastic design, nice and robust, I won't be scared to crush bushes down with this unit. Really looking forward to this one! Thank you Nokta. 20 4 Link to comment https://www.detectorprospector.com/topic/27875-nokta-active-magnetic-sensor-pi-detector-is-getting-closer-the-magnetar/ Share on other sites
Lead Detector
I'm definitely looking forward to seeing what it can do. Will it be a step above the competition, or simply competitive in function with a more attractive price? Either way, it's a win for the hobby. 5 Link to comment https://www.detectorprospector.com/topic/27875-nokta-active-magnetic-sensor-pi-detector-is-getting-closer-the-magnetar/#findComment-292328 Share on other sites
RONS DETECTORS MINELAB
The 8 push buttons looks like a very simple detector design to use, hopefully a beginner can use it like the 6000 makes everyone an expert The coil/shaft looks like the 7000 and the control box/pod looks like the 6000, best of both styles. Almost looks like a DOD coils. Hopefully it’s waterproof like the CTX. Hopefully we hear more soon. 5 Link to comment https://www.detectorprospector.com/topic/27875-nokta-active-magnetic-sensor-pi-detector-is-getting-closer-the-magnetar/#findComment-292329 Share on other sites

The little person button is probably user profiles, your favourite settings for different locations, So far it looks very positive. 3 Link to comment https://www.detectorprospector.com/topic/27875-nokta-active-magnetic-sensor-pi-detector-is-getting-closer-the-magnetar/#findComment-292330 Share on other sites
Tony
And this is why I have held off getting a new 4500. I really hope the performance is there on bigger/deeper targets and isn't solely biased to the sub gram nuggets. 3 Link to comment https://www.detectorprospector.com/topic/27875-nokta-active-magnetic-sensor-pi-detector-is-getting-closer-the-magnetar/#findComment-292332 Share on other sites
VicR
I think the coil cord is still on the outside like the GPX6000 - you can see screw in plug on the main body of the detector again like the GPX6000. Maybe the coil cord was left out as these pictures are designed to show the unique (?) design of this metal detector and the cord would distort / get in the way viewing the design outline. 1 Link to comment https://www.detectorprospector.com/topic/27875-nokta-active-magnetic-sensor-pi-detector-is-getting-closer-the-magnetar/#findComment-292334 Share on other sites
Popular Post phrunt
I'm not sure that will be the final name, as they had a naming competition and nobody could possibly know it has Active Magnetic Sensing technology at the time of that so for a name suggesting it's using that would be impossible for someone to come up with you would think, it's probably just the prototype name. It looks like a detector suitable for aftermarket coils and will likely have some quite quickly if this is the case, unless this magnetic sensing technology makes that more difficult with sensors in the coils? The pictures are not photos but software renders. I reduced them in resolution as the original resolution was insane. It does look a bit like a 6000 7000 mashup taking the best of each design and putting it into one unit and fixing up little things with the original design like the battery clips have metal clips, the battery doesn't sit directly on the ground and has housing legs under it, the shaft has good clips and won't twist, coil ears can't break and overall just looks a more solid build than the 6000, more Axiom and 7000 like in that regard. It really does look like external coil cables and just left out in the pictures; I'd be surprised if they're internal. The colour is very Minelab like. If this comes out at Nokta's traditional market shaking price structure which they've already indicated it will, it's going to shake the market up a fair bit, fingers crossed the performance is as good as I hope. 10 Link to comment https://www.detectorprospector.com/topic/27875-nokta-active-magnetic-sensor-pi-detector-is-getting-closer-the-magnetar/#findComment-292355 Share on other sites
Jonathan Porter
That thing’s going to flip and roll like a drunken bird on overripe mangoes, unless the coil is lain flat, Rolly Polly down the hilly she goesy. But then they all do that, unless they make the control box wider which then fouls your leg/hip when swinging, but the height from the feet to the top of the arm rest is pretty big, to allow the battery to slide lengthways into a cavity by the looks of things. It looks the goods though, but is it Algo good, Axiom good or aiming really high and GPX 6000 good? I’d buy one just for $hits and grins. 😁 Interesting coil shape, more reminiscent of a DOD design than a traditional DD, weird shape for a monoloop coil though. If it’s a coin/relic variant then a DD would make sense. Gosh the overall detector design is remarkably familiar. 😯 7 1 1 Link to comment https://www.detectorprospector.com/topic/27875-nokta-active-magnetic-sensor-pi-detector-is-getting-closer-the-magnetar/#findComment-292368 Share on other sites
GR Guy
What to believe in 2025 in the age of AI? I wonder if companies would artificially produce something to see if competitors jump first. Shadow boxing AI. 3 Link to comment https://www.detectorprospector.com/topic/27875-nokta-active-magnetic-sensor-pi-detector-is-getting-closer-the-magnetar/#findComment-292371 Share on other sites
