Active Magnetic Sensing Technology - will be interesting to see if this is built into the software silently behind the scenes (like Geo- Sense)  or it is a program the user can actively interact with it in some manner. Will it be a game changer is the big question?

With Algo Force and now Nokta  in the gold detecting market the bear has been prodded - how is Minelab  going to react for they surely have to with product better than their current line up? and better i mean significantly better not just a redesign and tweak of existing product if they want to maintain their market share. Algo Force as well would not have been sitting on their hands and may have another model soon.  Its going to be an interesting next 12 months. I think i will wait on the side lines for a while and wait for the dust to settle before taking the plunge to change from my GPX6000.

The physical design reminds me of the Nokta Impact.  I have been waiting for the Relic version. I’m ready.

I can see Minelab cutting the new 4500 to less than $3000.....there's plenty of fat on its profit margins already.

Amazingly, this would be my first ever Nokta detector purchase......subject to any unforeseen circumstances.

I wonder what sort of timeline we are looking at before it gets released?

Minelab will  need to be careful where they set their price points for future detectors......people's appetite for paying $10K plus for machines must be diminishing all the time......as well as any perceived value/performance considering the alternatives.

Minelab may become like the Ferrari's or Lamborghini's, to the serious they're worth the money, to ordinary people just wanting to have some fun whenever they can make it to a gold area then a Nokta, Algoforce or Garrett will do the job just fine, just like the Toyota's, Ford's etc.

To those that say you have to have the best to find gold, I think the current Algoforce, Garrett and even older GPX users can demonstrate otherwise, it sure helps but you don't have to have the best to find gold, the current crop of cheaper detectors can keep someone happy with minimal expensive by comparison and are more than suitable for someone just wanting to have some fun looking for gold.  It's becoming a really good time for people that don't want to spend a lot to get into the hobby with price to performance ratios not only in PI but also and especially VLF's.

I was looking today and saw someone selling a used Nox 800 for more than I paid for mine new years ago, so I checked the current pricing and wow, yep, that's why, it's now so much more expensive than when I bought mine new...

Magnetar - its a type of neutron star with an extremely powerful magnetic field.  So its not just a made up name - its a reference to Active Magnetic Sensing Technology. Interesting that they have yet to copy right "Active Magnetic Sensing Technology" instead just protecting the "unique" design of the detector. Maybe a smart move by Nokta to get the pictures out there by default - could make people pause purchasing a detector till they know more about the Magnetar.

I been waiting years for a new PI for around $1000

Will it be that cheap? I was thinking around the $1500 USD mark 😊

Depending on how much damage they want to do to the competition I suppose, they could do $1000 if they wanted.  PI, VLF, just electronics.

With Noktas ability to produce at scale, produce great quality AND with the exchange rate heavily in Turkish companies favor, this is entirely possible. Ive long said that if they wanted to destroy all competition in  the low to mid range Prospecting PI market, they could do it easily. If they designed a detector to sense tiny gold using aftermarket coils (to the same level as the 6000) and sold it for under US$1500, sales of all other PI's would plummet. Same goes for the top end, although I would imagine that they wouldnt let go of the option to sell at a higher price to maximize profits. Interesting times ahead!
