Gr Guy Did they perform better than the Evo of the same size?Did they perform better than the elite line. The few videos I’ve seen on YouTube kinda inconclusive thus far. Thanks you for the testing,It would be great to know if the 8x5 got more depth than the 8x6 MK2.Or that the Max coils beat the elite coils by enough to shell out 4to5 hundred on a new coil.Thank you

Im sure Trevor and Co will solve any issues eventually. I also have no feedback on their use with the E1500, only those with modded and un-modded GPX5000's.

Well one problem is I also have a modded 5000.

Gentlemen speculate no more, it’s already out.  I HAVE insider information.  IMG_5354.thumb.jpeg.c768c7d942afb84de81049598afb31e0.jpegIMG_5353.thumb.jpeg.230b8a02338853f4904d6ab9b11e8e79.jpegIMG_5349.thumb.jpeg.c7b04f47fbc995e1454bbf9745db0ef7.jpegIMG_5351.thumb.jpeg.148ba1deb1491a128d217ac3fb98d811.jpegIMG_5352.thumb.jpeg.eea839205ce439b83688215736b78992.jpeg It’s not the GPZ 8,000.
It’s the Gold Monster One Million.  Comes with both concentric and mono coils and a pinpointer.  Also available is the GM 1,000,000 Pro, which is the largest “inflatable” coil, said to be able to detect the largest nuggets close to the earth’s mantle.  In the concept drawing, you can see that a 1,000-2,000 lb nugget can easily be detected.  Licensing, permitting and aircraft sold separately.  Pre-order now!  Only $1,000,000.  I’m the only dealer.  Cash or gold only.  Thank you in advance.

I would wait on that purchase. The few guys who I know who have tried the Elite Max are very unhappy with them. The 'loaner' coils being totally underwhelming in performance and modded detectors dont like them having the gain increased past 50%....the coil disconnects from the circuitry. Methinks they were a bit rushed into production and a bit more R&D is needed.

One of the tests I saw was interesting in that it appeared to show a STD 4500 with the elite Max coils  out performing a modded 5000 with the nf coils they were using. It also mentions on the modded 5000 and elite Max coil that the gain had limitations. But they noted the Algo ran "beautifully" with the elite Max. Another test I saw using the Algo and the elite Max was way ahead of the current coils. That tester said he couldn't run evo coils above about 19 sensitivity on the Algo but with the elite Max he could go to the maximum.

On the Algo running the sensitivity up is not a sure thing on gaining depth or accuracy on a target.Sensitivey is like turning the volume up on a radio. If you have a low quality speaker, all you get is buzzzz.Have not seen yet that there have been any tests yet that show the max coils gain depth on small targets,on Algo or modded machines.Would like to see a video on Max vs Elite or Max vs Evo of the same size.On gram and sub gram targets.Haven’t seen the Max is worth dropping 4 to 5 hundred $$ on.I own Algo, and a Micks 5000 and 4000 machines. This is not to bash the Max hope someone shows the performance. But as far as I’ve seen not there yet.I also have MK2 to 25” Evos and elite fin 9” to 18”.

  • The title was changed to Elite Max Coils Vs All Others On Algo And Modded And Stock GPX Detectors

I was once told by X-coils they can make coils extremely sensitive for the GPX and GPZ, far more sensitive than anything on the market, but to sell a coil you need to get the balance right as these extremely sensitive coils will likely not work well on certain ground or just be noisy compared to other coils and get complaints, in fact I have one for the GPZ, a 12x8" Coil that is only for milder soils, it won't work well in bad ground but in mild soils its a powerful little coil, it never went on sale for this reason, it was just made for use here in my milder soils, take it to Western Australia and it would likely struggle to balance or just be noisier.

Many would have noticed the NF 12x8" for the GPX was a noisy coil and plenty complained about it, but it had some good sensitivity especially in the right conditions, the noise being a side effect of pushing the coil design to be as sensitive as it was.  Putting spiral windings even if semi spiral into the smallest coils is pushing the limits, if you then go back and put a bundle wound mono of the same size on your machine runs so much quieter and will handle ground better.

Unless Coiltek have found a real magical sweet spot having a 10x5" semi spiral or a 9" round spiral running in very hot ground, with very high or maximum gain along with being on a modded detector and purring like a kitten is a bit of an unrealistic expectation, for me though in milder soils I am happy if they have pushed the limits to the maximum.

Another spot some manufacturers haven't focused so much on that probably should is the coil cable itself as improvements can be made there they're missing out on.

I wonder what R&D goes in to conductive metals as far as circuitry and coils?  Silver, best conductor.  Aluminum, light weight.  Or even some conductive carbon winding materials?  Does anyone actually use silver wires in detectors or coils?  Or is there little gain in reducing resistance over copper?
