Aureous
Based on current videos and friends assessments, these coils are designed for the E1500. Their performance on the 5000 (modded and standard) seems somewhat mixed. Wait n see for more info soon no doubt. 1 1 Link to comment https://www.detectorprospector.com/topic/27954-coiltek-elite-max-coils-for-the-gpx-legacy-and-algoforce/page/5/#findComment-295704 Share on other sites
Aureous
2 hours ago, Wild Bill said: I wonder what R&D goes in to conductive metals as far as circuitry and coils? Silver, best conductor. Aluminum, light weight. Or even some conductive carbon winding materials? Does anyone actually use silver wires in detectors or coils? Or is there little gain in reducing resistance over copper? Its a balance between cost and performance. Also the damage factor needs to be assessed. The amount of knocks and bangs each coil much suffer in its 'life span' creates micro abrasion internally, plus seasonal heat and cold changes. All of this creates parameters which the coil designer/manufacturer has to deal with. A great many experiments and trials have taken place over the decades to try and tweak a few extra % points out of any coil.....all to no avail. So, we all stick to the various copper wire types for cost effectiveness and performance. 2 Link to comment https://www.detectorprospector.com/topic/27954-coiltek-elite-max-coils-for-the-gpx-legacy-and-algoforce/page/5/#findComment-295714 Share on other sites
mn90403
Are these coils still coming out on April 30? Will any of the test videos be published? Maybe not having the raw power of the 5000 or 7000 but the price tag was less than a third of the 6000's price tag? Maybe it's also less suseptible to Electrical interference and deals well with black sand etc. Maybe it would be compatible with the GP and GPX coils so would already have a slew of coils to choose from that are not super expensive? Also it runs for many hours off a inexpensive basic fairly light weight power pack you can purchase from Walmart for cheap! In addition it has a basic ID and a digital screen. Would that be attractive? Some of you I'm sure already know what I'm talking about. The Algoforce of course and it's already here! The Algoforce at under 1600 dollars without a coil and power supply. I got a 2000 mah power supply from Walmart that is speculated to run the Algo for 20 hours or so. I haven't tested that but believe it's fairly accurate. I'm anxious to add a New Coiltech Elite Max coil to it when they come out April 30th or soon after. But I have several GPX coils to use in the meantime. I'm not selling them but I love a good deal and to me this detector seems like a really good deal. I didn't intend to get off the scope of this thread but while you are waiting for that new Minelab Miracle to come, don't forget to enjoy what's already available for what I imagine will cost way less money! Just wanted to make a correction. The Power bank I'm using with my Algo is not 2,000 mah it is 20,000 mah. I bought it at walmart for roughly 20 dollars. It's a Pocket Juice made by TZUMI. Someone suggested I buy a waterproof 10,000 mah in a different brand that Walmart sells but they were out of them at the time of purchase but this one works great so far. It's a little heavier but I definitely wouldn't call it heavy but could likely be used for a couple good days of detecting without charge. Guys gold
Treasure Talk had the main man on this morning on there podcast. His discussion on the max coils was kinda underwhelming “in my opinion “ .Talk about weight and venting to allow air pressure to escape and water not to get in.I was hoping for just a bit on performance increase ,to maybe better the elite series. But nothing .And when the Algo was brought up,not much again.Don’t know if I want to throw 500$ at a light green coil.Been waiting quite awhile think I will sick it out until Rohan gets it done. 3 Link to comment https://www.detectorprospector.com/topic/27954-coiltek-elite-max-coils-for-the-gpx-legacy-and-algoforce/page/5/#findComment-295939 Share on other sites
Roughwater
I just watched this video from Australia Testing the Coiltek Elite Max coils on the Algoforce. The impressive part for me was how high the sensitivity could be set on very mineralized ground with some EMI as well. They may or may not do great on the modded 5000 but they definitely seem to work fine with the Algo so I may order one anyway. Someone had mentioned that turning up the sesitivity may not always bring better performance but it definitely improved the signal in these tests. https://video.search.yahoo.com/yhs/search?fr=yhs-fc-4004_10&ei=UTF-8&hsimp=yhs-4004_10&hspart=fc¶m1=7¶m2=eJwtjstqwzAURH9FywRk5UqyZCtaOU3yAaWrXu7CdVRH%2BIkfuPTri0uYzTCcgVPHB3p6v0oAo7VBTj16kshp35FThZ6cc8gpjugpM0LmTkgFIs%2BRUx0G9LTOyGkt0VM3%2FMa2LU9GADtssX8M28z6hUkQ4NkWe5t69mPTIyvHsQ1b%2BGricjI6E9qyQ%2FNcupazNjaB1aFqhiOrntPQhZPUVsAeNpff5RRfl11rji%2FVdQ7Tf5f6CgoKSJS5uUTKOySXwqokuxRv1t2sduq%2B89UOK1AmgTTR8CGzs1ZnpUVu4PMPizdRIw%3D%3D&p=Coiltek+Elite+max+on+Algoforce&type=fc_A8E837262B8_s58_g_e_d_n1_c999#id=1&vid=2dc5a8ba34c90f6bcc3003134325c6c1&action=click 1 Link to comment https://www.detectorprospector.com/topic/27954-coiltek-elite-max-coils-for-the-gpx-legacy-and-algoforce/page/5/#findComment-296041 Share on other sites

The 'loaner' coils being totally underwhelming in performance and modded detectors dont like them having the gain increased past 50%....the coil disconnects from the circuitry. Methinks they were a bit rushed into production and a bit more R&D is needed. HI All - some good discussion and interest in the new ELITE-MAX coils which have been going well. I am not sure of your comments here Aureous as we have not had any feedback commenting on 'underwhelming' or switching off circuitry. If this is only on Modded machines then its not the coils fault this is happening. I understand you may think they were 'rushed' in to production but i can assure you they were not and we know they are good performers for the machines. As with all manufacturers of coils, there may be teething issues once more coils get out there and some compatibility dramas due to tolerances of machines but overall we are excited to see more gold being found with the ELITE-MAX coils. If you feel there is an issue with the coils performance or have some queries on performance you or anyone are very welcome to contact us direct for more information. Right now, these coils are available and production is in full swing! phrunt
I look forward to getting one, will be ideal for my Algo and 5000. 1 Link to comment https://www.detectorprospector.com/topic/27954-coiltek-elite-max-coils-for-the-gpx-legacy-and-algoforce/page/5/#findComment-296052 Share on other sites

Reiterating here Trev, I have not used one myself but 2 friends have, both highly experienced and successful operators, one with a modded 5000 and one with std 5000. Both received trials coils from the Gold center in Maryborough. Both felt that the older Elite coils were better performers. TBH, I was surprised that both of them said the same thing. You might want to talk to Andrew at the gold center and see if this is a common point of discussion. I hope not.
