I found these possible meteorites with my GPX 6000. I was detecting Franconia, north of the railroad tracks in the wilderness area.

I feel pretty good about the small black one, but am suspect of the others.

All are highly magnetic, but leave a slight black or brown streak, Magnetite or hematite?

Also they do not test positive for nickel with my meteorite test kit (amazon) however

the interiors appears to show metal flakes like I have seen on other meteorites.

What do you guys think?

Thanks, Dave

You piqued my curiosity.  I don't know which test kit you refer to but here's what I ordered at High Plains Prospecting at 40% less (and that includes shipping and tax) than what Amazon with 'free' Prime shipping is charging for this identical product).

Thanks for the feed back guys.

They looked good to me also, but with my limited experience I wanted some other opinions.

The lack of a positive response to the nickel test puts some doubt in my mind, I think I'll

get a different nickel test kit like GB suggested.

I wanted to compare the interior with the interior of magnetite, but with all the stuff on the internet

I couldn't find a pic of that, go figure.

As you mentioned it's hard to find an image of the interior of magnetite, but I found an image of a cut and polished to a mirror finish specimen.

Here's one of the images, there's more at the linked website.
