Still have snow here in the mountains of Idaho. My wife and I have kicked around the idea going to Arizona to detect for the first time. I've looked at the weather reports and it looks good. Haven't picked out a particular spot. We may wander. Anyone have an on the ground report?

Id leave tomorrow but now I have a cold and this weekend it may snow here again. I'm obligated to plow snow in a mountain community here.

Trying to do a little research before going but the head cold is slowing that down . I know we will have a great time exploring no matter what. Just want out of the snow for a while.

Quartzite is under consideration. it's been a long time since I've been down to Arizona and haven't detected there. We normally just drop down to Nevada. Received an atlas yesterday and tomorrow should get a book on placer mines, I think...my head is too stuffed up to remember. And for the life of me I can't find the charger for my 4500. The mail is bringing a new one tomorrow.

Snowing heavy right now north of Prescott. I would suggest the stay in the southern deserts, the Bradshaw mountains are getting plenty of snow. I use mine cache Quick and easy to find closed and active claims, but it does not show state land. Look up Arizona state trust land maps of the area you want to prospect. Good luck to you!
