Thanks Ghound, The last 2 or 3 hunts before this were either fairly unproductive or a matter of "taking one for the team". It was nice to get something really awesome along with some silver coins and other stuff. I'm going to find the owner and return it, if the person isn't known I'll take it to the local Masonic Lodge. It is a problem with that detector. I remember when I first got it I dug so much aluminum thinking jeeze this thing cannot find any gold rings. It is real hot on low conductors as you mentioned. So you have to be careful. I’d say dig everything at the beach. But in parks, I only dig numbers 13 and above due of all the can slaw. Also, I will watch the target trace carefully. If I’m in the middle of a ball field then I will dig lower numbers, hoping it’s a chain.
