Popular Post Joe Beechnut OBN
Water has hit 50F and being itching to get out. My second trip out with the AQ, first was a disaster, had several new ideas for cold water.. heated gloves which turned out to be so cumbersome I could not adjust the knobs on the AQ, second was heated socks, when you try and pinpoint with your foot behind the coil.. AQ goes nuts.. so my second trip out those new ideas stayed home. I did use my new app Strava for my iphone to track my path and give me data, along with a water proof pocket on my drysuit shoulder which if talk loud enough I can use the phone, specially good for I do hunt alone a lot in deep waters.. great in emergency's. On the hunt I did walk right into a Hot area, a area I have seen before but comes and goes. I did wonder off from that area just to check another but I spent most of my time in about a 60 foot area. (Mistake, measured and more like 225 feet) Interesting with the Strava app it will give me a timeline and shows my tracking as the hunt went along, so I can trace my steps and direction moving.. it was about a 4 hour hunt with 1.5 miles walked. 18 Link to comment https://www.detectorprospector.com/topic/28100-fisher-aq-gold-1918-class-ring-14k-band-a-few-silvers-buffs/ Share on other sites

mn90403
I'm headed to the East Coast driving in a couple of days. No real detecting time. One day in Daytona Beach on Tuesday then drive up to St. Augustine with the family. If I was going up north your way I'd sure like to meet but this is my first trip back in about 10 years. 3 Link to comment https://www.detectorprospector.com/topic/28100-fisher-aq-gold-1918-class-ring-14k-band-a-few-silvers-buffs/#findComment-294573 Share on other sites

El I would say the class ring possibly the 30s to 40s? Reason that beach opened in the early 30s. The land was owned by one family who decided to open the beach to the public so I don't think much swimming went on until it opened as a public beach. And the band my guess would be the 50/60s, only because of the style of that band was popular in the 60s? The place closed in 1969? The band was dug a little further south west of the coins dug, the 1918 came from a area I was digging several coins, at the furthers point of the GPS map with a high concentration of tracks NW. As references, all the pennies were wheaties..no dates. The 3 buffs were no daters, and only one of the silver quarters was dated 1942..others no date. All were dug in the same area, stretch of beach. There were two silver nickels, one was a 1941 ..no date on the other. No clad.. 1 Link to comment https://www.detectorprospector.com/topic/28100-fisher-aq-gold-1918-class-ring-14k-band-a-few-silvers-buffs/#findComment-294598 Share on other sites

Im around Annapolis Maryland, let me know if you happen to pass thru. I've got a spot we can go in by boat or we can go back to this spot which has two beaches next to the other. Not been to the northish beach yet, this year. 1 2 Link to comment https://www.detectorprospector.com/topic/28100-fisher-aq-gold-1918-class-ring-14k-band-a-few-silvers-buffs/#findComment-294599 Share on other sites
