Popular Post strick
A few days ago one of our members posted a rather concerning photo of a rare condition known as "Golden Fungus Fingernail Rot" It seems to be a rare ailment that effects some of the more serious gold hunters rather then the weekend warrior type so most of us (including myself) will never get this rare disease. This led me to think how many of our members may be afflicted with this rare condition? The following photo shows two different hands one is the real miners hands and the other the weekend warrior hands.. Can you tell which is which? So in closing I'll say "Show me your hands" BTW this is something you would not to hear someone ask you outside of this forum 🙂 strick 18 5 1 Link to comment https://www.detectorprospector.com/topic/28112-miners-hands/ Share on other sites

Popular Post klunker
These photos are actually the outward manifestations of a incurable mental illness. However, the symptoms of the dread illness can be lessened by administering copious amounts of properly prepared (and aged) volatile liquids while the patient is forced to inhale natural wood smoke, preferably as far away from polite society as possible. This procedure should be attended by a medical professional who understands animal instincts (perhaps a veterinarian), along with someone who has seen many cases of the illness, such as a retired Alaskan prospector, and, in case things take a turn for the worse a large, muscular man, such as a carpenter should also be on hand. I am scheduling my treatment very soon. 8 8 1 Link to comment https://www.detectorprospector.com/topic/28112-miners-hands/#findComment-294710 Share on other sites
Gerry in Idaho
Luckily I don't have Miners hands as I spend more time on computer and selling detectors. But a week in the field and those calisus start appearing about the same time the gold does. This is the only picture in my phone of multi nuggets in my hand. Sure I have found bigger ones but usually wearing gloves when digging bigger deep holes so my hands still are baby butt smooth. 8 Link to comment https://www.detectorprospector.com/topic/28112-miners-hands/#findComment-294799 Share on other sites

I can’t take mine off - no, not due to Mrs’ rule, it just won’t physically come off due to my fat ring finger! So I always have to hold my scoop right handed! 2 1 Link to comment https://www.detectorprospector.com/topic/28112-miners-hands/#findComment-294808 Share on other sites
Gerry in Idaho
Yes I have the same wedding band of 36 yrs. I'm actually enjoying my Anniversary with wife in Caribbean right now and wearing it. Luckily, it can be removed with soapy water and some work. Usually I forget to take it off when going on a multi day trips and it certainly slows down the target recovery speed. I do recommend those who are new to the hunt to remove rings/watches when detecting gold so they can not be fooled by the metal when recovery of targets. 2 Link to comment https://www.detectorprospector.com/topic/28112-miners-hands/#findComment-294820 Share on other sites
